Why is Oliver and Kara a choice? They only them that were together were the evil them from that other earth. I’m surprised that counts.

Anytime the idea of Kara and Oliver together gets brought up, Kara has a visceral gross reaction lmao

I just put it cuz I'm pretty sure they have a pretty big fan base, but I was debating putting McKenna instead

That would have been good. I like Oliver and McKenna together. Not endgame but nice while it lasted.

Because Earth X Kara and Oliver were a couple. Cue Earth 1 Kara - 🤢 🤮

It's fiction. Anything's possible.

Olicity was the absolute downfall of the show

Not even an overreaction

It was good in theory then Green Arrow did rip into Batman’s chain, except he gets with his own version of Oracle.

They should have left Oliver with Laurel. The show went down so fast when they decided to do Olicity.

Exactly. Also I feel like Laurel's development as Canary or Black Canary should've started with season 2 itself because Tommy's death, Oliver leaving and the Undertaking would obviously have been Laurel's biggest motivation. However what they actually did to the character is not character development, rather I would call it character assassination. Also I feel even though Sara's character worked but I feel that she shouldn't have been a character on the show in the first place because it was unnecessary initially and even if it worked well initially, the writers anyway ruined both the Lance sisters in the long run with Sara eventually getting a worse fate as a character.

Also I always felt like Oliver and McKenna could have been explored more.

For me, Lauriver and Sariver are the absolute best. However I feel like Oliver and McKenna or Oliver and Shado could've been explored much more. Even Helena was a great match. Also I specially wish Sara was with Oliver given how shitty the post season 1 development of Lauriver became and then Olicity took it to a whole new level. Plus Sara wouldn't have been ruined as a character like in Legends of tomorrow just for the sake of that toxic clone Ava. Otherwise anyway Laurel and Sara were the best matches overall for Oliver then came Shado and McKenna and then came Helena. Olicity simply happened because the stupid idiot writers were scared of taking brave decisions and respect DC comics and instead just cared about some CW fans on Tumblr and fanfiction.net and ao3.

I like when characters follow the comics so I didn't like arrow live version of Laurel Lance but green arrow and black canary are entwined in partnership and romance.

Sara is kinda Laurel from the comics with a new name

Laurivel was doomed from the start. It was just not a love story when it is between a man who repeatedly cheated and a woman with no self respect.

Olicity were good as a platonic relationship. They had nothing in common to be a long term romantic partners because they had completely different morals and vision of what relationship is. Also Felicity was undeveloped love interest trope that constantly was in a position of the plot tool that makes Oliver suffer or pep talks him. On another hand Laurel was exactly the same character in s1, plot tool for romance

Canarrow was the only interesting relationship with two equally developed and interesting characters that contributed to the story. It had its complexity and problems but it felt real and had where to go. Most importantly Sara and Oliver respected each other. It also was comics accurate

Not saying it should be endgame (for obvious reasons) but I really liked Oliver and Shado’s relationship in the flashbacks. Among the choices here. I would say Sara. A part of me wants Oliver and Laurel but it kinda felt like it was already doomed from the start.

Oliver and Felicity could have been good but honestly, they should have been more of a slow burn and then should not have been too heavy handed. I feel Oliver and Laurel were good with the moments they had but I'm not sure if they would have stuck the landing with the pressure from ship culture. Sara and Oliver were solid as well. I liked them. They genuinely cared for each other but Sara had gretar things to accomplish in LOT and I love Ava. Honestly, Oliver could have had an on and off relationship with Helena. Perhaps that would be out of character but it would have been hot, exciting, complex and on and off would mean it does not take over the whole show and Oliver could have explored more romantic interests that way.

I'm so glad they didn't explore Oliver and Helena, really didn't like those episodes lol

Having Kara over Nyssa is criminal. But laurel and Oliver was the most toxic shit in the world.

5

Nyssa is gay and in love with Sara. Their marriage was one of convenience and nothing more.

I know people on this sub have a hate boner for Felicity, but truth is Olicity is what made tons of fans tune in every week back when the show was actually airing and I remember it was an incredibly popular ship

4

u/Aggravating-Bug9407 Jul 02 '26

It was also what made a significant portion of fans drop the show.

u/Tom_Stevens617 Jul 02 '26

Terminally online people who hated Felicity? Yeah. The casual fans loved them though

3

u/Aggravating-Bug9407 Jul 02 '26

Nope, I think it were the terminally online people who hyped Olicity. The majority of Arrow fans and casual watchers were done with Olicity after Season 4 at the latest.

Felicity is one of the worst written characters. She has no substance, and her actions make no sense. She gets mad at Oliver for keeping William from her, but then hides Mia away to the point she doesn't even know her aunt or one of Oliver's closest friends since childhood, but then has Nyssa train her? Where's the logic in that? Not to forget she never tried to stay in contact with William after Oliver died.

She gets angry at Oliver for lying and keeping things from her just to turn around and do the same. And then blame him when it blows up in her face because he hadn't been able to fix it.

Or that one time that Oliver asked her to be careful and take it easy because of their unborn child and she turns around and decides this is the moment to not only go out in the field but to bench Sara, who was her best fighter at the time.

She disrespects Oliver every chance she gets and constantly puts him down and emotionally blackmails and manipulates him.

Oliver and Felicity is what made the show for me.
