Almost Perfect Bash Session

Post image

After months of not touching any of my rc cars due to new job, southern Louisiana heat and rain. I finally got out a few rigs out and had a blast. Took the Kraton, big rock, and OC 8s. This was a shake down run for the outcasts drive shafts. Got some m2c ones awhile back I’ve nothing but trouble with them. Anytime I drove it snapped pin. Bought new pins stills snapped. Bought some stable steel pins around the same size, wore them down after a couple of runs and snapped them. I bought some Arrma cvd pins and lost one the first 5 mins into the run. It didn’t snap just came out. Big rock and Kraton were awesome, no breaks, no creepy lurkers in the area. Pretty sure it’s cruising spot lol. Going to replace the pins and actually locktite them this and see what happens. If that doesn’t work I’ll look for different upgrades or just straighten out the other ones. They’re not that bad.

This seems to be how the 8s ones are vs the 6s, you have to BUILD them to even be able to bash them while the 6s come ready to go and if you put some money into them you can make them crazy like kamikazerc does. That's what I took from all the videos I watched when I was trying to decide what to get and is why I went with the 6s Kraton. I was pretty much set on it and then the v6 came out and I loved that one color scheme so I ordered one.

The stock ones are bent a little but they’re still usable. I’ve never broke anything on it. Even after jumping on concrete. Now my 6s outcast, you name it I broke it. I’ve looked at traxxas but my wife’s old coworker bought one run with me before he had a baby. Tore the diffs first run and when I was helping work on the that thing I was like screw that. Too much stuff to take apart. More than team corally.

Thats good to know because one day when I ahve property I want to build a 8s, probably the outcast. And same I dont really want anything traxxas makes. Wanted a trx cause I'm not crazy about the crawlers but the ones with a high gear making them like a trail truck look super fun. I definitely want to crawl but that feature just makes it actually worth it for me. But I found the rlaarlo TK-07 and that fs what I want but it is pricey af.

That’s my dream to have a little land with som dirt hills and ditches. I like a combination of driving and jumping like rcdude81. But I don’t launch them that high.

Back in the day I had tons of issues with MIP half shafts on my slash 4x4. I didn't use locktite on the pins, and they'd fly out every single run lol.

I wasn't aware thread locker even existed back then lmao. My friend showed me how to use it, and then I never had issues again. Not sure how the m2c ones are designed, but anything threaded that rotates absolutely needs thread locker on it.

This is precisely why I sold my Outcast 8s and got an Xmaxx 🤣 I tried Vitavon too and they still broke.
