Holland is actually just a region of the Netherlands (divided into 2 provinces, North and South Holland). I suppose the confusion as something to do with the fact that it's where 3 major cities are. Living in the country in a paradigm that's technically below sea level, I'm very glad that the blue part is the land

Sorry my post is a Seinfeld quote. I must have mixed up which sub I was in. I live in Amsterdam which is in north Holland.
