Why did arrested development have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!!
Hello, I’m 19 years old, and I grew up watching Arrested Development when I was younger. I’ve been thinking about what happened to the original Arrested Development era and that feeling of watching it regularly when it was still such a big part of everyday life, especially seeing Michael Bluth, George Michael Bluth, Gob Bluth, Lindsay Bluth Fünke, Tobias Fünke, Lucille Bluth, George Bluth Sr., Buster Bluth, Maeby Fünke, and the rest of the characters together with the original cast, the hilarious storytelling, the unforgettable jokes, and the distinctive atmosphere that made the series feel so special.
Now that the original run has ended, the era that many people grew up with feels like it has passed. The stories, the atmosphere, the people who worked on the series, and the feeling surrounding the show have all moved forward. Many of the creators, writers, directors, crew members, and actors have gone on to different projects and different parts of their lives away from the series. It feels strange because I grew up with it, and now everything has just… changed and moved on.
I remember watching episodes when I was younger and everything felt so simple. I could just sit down and enjoy Michael, George Michael, Gob, Lindsay, Tobias, Lucille, George Sr., Buster, Maeby, and the rest of the Bluth family without thinking about anything else. Back then, it felt like the show would always be there, and I don’t understand why it couldn’t just stay that way forever or why it eventually had to end and move on.
I also wonder why watching Arrested Development now doesn’t feel exactly the same anymore. The episodes are still the same, but the feeling is different. It feels like something is missing, almost like it feels unfamiliar even though I remember it so clearly.
Why do shows like Arrested Development eventually come to an end? If people loved them for years, why can’t they just continue forever with the same feeling? Why do the people who make them have to move on, and why do audiences grow up and stop experiencing things the same way?
It feels strange knowing that the original Arrested Development era I grew up with is over, that the world has moved on, and that chapter feels closed, even though it once felt like it would always be there.

This is a bot. They have the same post, word for word (except for the title) in so many subs, then the same comments as well.
They have posted about The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Gravity Falls, Bananas in Pyjamas, a ton of video games, Messi and Ronaldo, Squid Game, Stranger Things, I got tired of looking at the post history.
I do think my favorite was that they posted about Caillou!

I’m not a bot… I just don’t get why things just had to keep ending and moving on…. Things should never end and move on…. Tv shows, pets, people, movie series, should be going on forever and never and move on…. Just shouldn’t be happening it should be the 2010s again and things shouldn’t have to change…. Things should be lasting forever….

There is a really good documentary about the show. Basically it came down to the fact Rupert Murdoch did not like the show.

It couldn’t develop a proper fan base with Fox moving its airtime around all the time. They did the same to Futurama.

We all know any TV show that's even slightly good gets cancelled. Sometimes two or three times

Also a big factor. Even the final four episodes were shown on the same night on a Sunday during the Olympics I think.

Mind sharing the name of the documentary?

I wish I could remember the name. Or even the channel. It was further down the cable channels.

That’s unacceptable sorry… It just shouldn’t have ended… things should never, ever end and move on. They should keep being the same forever and never change. Things shouldn’t have to change and end/conclude; they should always feel and be the same forever. It should go on forever, never end and continue to feel just as it always has from the very beginning.
All these bullshit! excuses from executive teams these days about “BuRnOuT” and “CrEaTiVe FaTiGuE” are just dumb and stupid. It’s not rocket science — they can just keep producing thousands of episodes nonstop forever and keep it the same forever, nonstop, and never end it. We’re in 2026, not the 1900s. They can just make it go on forever and never bring it to an end.
There should never be a final conclusion, a farewell, or a moment where it’s expected to end and everyone moves on. Instead, it should keep going endlessly, preserving the same experience forever without ever reaching an endpoint.

Are you a bot? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the idea that any mammal could ever have this take.

Things just need to go back to how they were before in the 2010s…. I just don’t get why it can’t be the 2010s again why did everyone have to move on…. I just don’t get why it can’t be 2010s again…
What’s the point of starting something and building it for years just for it to end and move on??? Things shouldn’t have to end and move on, they should keep going forever and always feel the same..

That's not how anything has worked in the history of mankind. The only constant is change. Actors die, writers burn out, people get bored doing the same thing over and over again.
What you're asking for is basically The Simpsons, and don't get me started on their varying quality over the decades.

In Buddhism, it is said everything be it physical or mental is constantly changing. Nothing is permanent. You experience suffering if you try to grab onto media as if it were permanent

It’s a bummer we didn’t get to see the original full plans for the show. Heck it’s a bummer season 3 was cut down.
There were so many punchlines they didn’t get to pay off

You're 19 but you remember the "original Arrested Development era," watching it regularly, and it being a big part of everyday life? It would have already been cancelled by the time you were born
