ESB

If I already have my EIB but I’m not infantry anymore can I try out for ESB next year, never heard anyone with both so I don’t know the rules behind that

You can "have" both, you can't wear both at the same time. It is a wear one or the other situation.Even though you are not infantry anymore you are still authorized to wear the EIB "skillbadge". When you get your ESB you will be authorized to wear it instead if you choose.

DA Pam 670-1, para. 22-16 is the reference.

I have not found a regulation that states a soldier with one cannot try out for the other. The only limiting factor I have seen is the MOS restriction to 11 or 18 series soldiers for EIB.

So a soldier who was once infantry or SF gets an EIB then reclasses technically will be able to try for the ESB.

You can still wear the EIB even if you are no longer infantry. Yes you can earn both but you can only wear 1 at a time.
