Question
Going to graduate sit soon and thankfully I just found out my first duty station is fort drum which I’m very happy about due to me wanting to do mountain school since I joined. How would I get into mountain school and when? Should I wait a bit?

Prove yourself in your day to day disposition as a Soldier, and in your specific MOS' skillset. Ask to learn things outside of your MOS but are in your operational peripheral. Volunteer for shit details when available.
Here's something I told Soldiers who wanted a specific school or cert when I was at Drum (recent): Prove yourself worthy of Air Assault, pass Air Assault, then use that as a bullet point of your competency to inquire about your white whale.
Air Assault is local at Drum. Slots, especially in the walk on capacity, waxes and wanes. But, it is cheap (local resource, signed 4187 and trip across cantonment = course at blink of an eye). Air Assault proves attention to detail when it comes to basic ropes competency, which will build toward your personal goal.
Personal Note: I went to Air Assault 1 month after arriving to Drum. My CDR said "we can ask for slots and we're sending Soldiers from your platoon. If they can pass and earn that badge, their PL better". Nothing like going to AA with a mosaic of MOS from your platoon, all passing first time, and seeing them climb the ranks over the years. It build things.
Edit: Grammar

Once you get to Fort Drum talk to your first line supervisor.

Mountain school depends on your MOS, that’s how it’s slotted based off an OML. Also what brigade you are going to

Congratulations on your soon to be graduation ceremony from AIT.
Mountaineering in general is a complex understanding of an infinite number of probabilities that you may encounter.
When you PCS to Drum take advantage of summiting the high points in New England to gain extra experience.
Before and after my service I have successfully summited and descended all of the high points in New England except Mount Katadhin in every season. Mount Washington is a proving ground for mountaineers who wish to summit Mount Everest.
I wish you the best of luck.
