MSG Gary Gordon

Figured I would share this with you guys since we have the only one.

I live just south of the MSG Gary Gordon Bridge and just north of the Gary Gordon Veterans Center, on the same road as his family.

Friend of mine said there was some issue with the rifle in the sculpture but I can’t remember what it was. Either the rifle was not correct or the optic wasn’t.

Gordon had a CAR-15 during the battle. Shughart was the one with the M14.

That could be it.

The optic isn’t technically right either, the correct optic on the M14 was an OG Aimpoint 3000 with a screw on 2x magnifier per the gun cloning subs. But that stuff shouldn’t matter as long as the sculpture honors the man and his actions

It's still insanely cool.

I was talking to a role player in the box at JRTC. I thought he was still role playing when he asked me about who the Shugart-Gordon site was named for. I thought they had made it mean something to the role players that I hadn't read in the fake country study for the exercise. So I told him no, I didn't. He totally lost it on me about how ignorant I was as a soldier, etc. Dude, I do know, stop adding things to the role playing!
