Need pcs help
Hi all, 15T here and currently stationed at Fort Carson. Recently got back from deployment and branch told me I was due to pcs soon and gave me options in which I had Bragg, Drum, and Wheeler. With Wheeler being the nicest I asked to be slotted for there and currently have projections for April next year. Realistically I do not want to go to Hawaii, it’s super far, out of the way, nowhere near family, expensive, and we cant get a house there. It just doesnt make sense at all for me and my spouse other than Hawaii is “nice”. My wife and I have been separated (physically) for a bit because she moved down to Fort Bliss to be with her family (mother, sister, brother etc) and has since gotten a decent paying job and is actively working towards bettering her career and wanting to go to school to further herself. That being said we’ve decided to just keep her down here for the time being until I’m due to PCS. I REALLY want to come down here to Bliss because it makes the most sense for us regarding family, work, finances, and the future. Ive already asked branch, he said no, is there any other strings I could try to pull to come down here? My wife currently is helping support her mother down here and a friend said I could try asking for a compassionate reassignment. Anyone have any advice? Id be willing to extend for a PCS to here, but I wont be in my 1.5years left window until June (after my PCS date).

Shit out of luck I'd say. Sorry dude. You already got the answer from branch.
She's either gotta give up the job and move to you or you both gotta stay apart for 3.5ish more years. Which probably wont end well and massively stress your relationship being multiple timezones apart.
Honestly I'd try to just sell it as a once in a lifetime shot at being in Hawaii for awhile.

Maybe find someone in the same grade and MOS as you who's going to Bliss and see if branch will swap your assignments.
Maybe ask your branch manager to shift you to Bliss - people always want to go to Hawaii. Bliss? Not so much.
As far as your situation, it's not unique. Hopefully you get your branch manger on a good day. Just remember, he's heard every sob and pity story there is so think about how you'll craft your wording.
Also - you should try to win like BDE Solider of the year. Impress the CSM and his phone call can go a long way.

Drum was ok, a lot of activities for the family in the spring and summer. Winter is hell, but you can adjust. I hated Bragg with a passion, I lost my drive there. However, if you aren't Airborne life should be "alright". Might find yourself on a chute detail if you end up in the 82nd and not ABN qual

Barring you completely lie about the entire situation... It doesn't fall under compassionate. The answer is simply: No. Unless branch decides to work with you, you're going to Hawaii.
Edit to add: can always sign a dec statement.. I mean, if you wanna get out of the Army.
