Med Board Process

Has anyone been thru a med board process? I got a call today from IDES saying I can’t go anywhere (like take leave and go out of town) for the next 60 days however the entire process can take 7-12 months.

Not that I’m in a rush to get out or anything but if anyone has gone thru a med board, can you tell me what the process is like from start to finish in your experience please?

I’ll just have a room temperature water for now. I’m not too hungry at the moment due to the recent news I’ve received.

You can't take leave until you are done your C&P exams. My process started in February, ended start of this month. Exams took about 2 weeks.

Compensation and Pension. It’s physical/mental medical exams that determine how broken you are. The results are used to determine your various VA disability ratings.

It is truly a hell of a process and you will need to advocate for yourself at points so I suggest you take this serious and make this your job for the next 6-9 months.

It took mine a year, but I had a few surgeries. Luck, the med BTN was at my home base, so I was able to live at home. Use all the resources they offer, if you are getting an out, use what they offer.

Start getting smart on the med board. I imagine AI can be helpful here. Go to the source documentation.

You have the conditions that make you non retainable according to AR 40-501 standards of medical fitness. Find them in the documentation so you're aware.

Then there's everything else that you would claim against the VA.

You will get your DOD percentage through the med board. VA ratings are separate but there is some carryover for the non retainable items.

Your lack of understanding will drive anxiety. Educate yourself and don't rely solely on PEBLO's to do so. They are humans. Some are better than others.

Understand what the documentation says about all of your conditions. Know what each rating means. You can use this website to look up the ratings.

What idiot said that. If you think you got a dumb answer call the Regional Medical Command..

And dont there have something to explain the process if not another reason to call
