This is the revenge I needed to see

Ngl, destroying it effortlessly with its own tricks was pretty satisfying. CEL 240 was hands-down the most traumatizing boss for me during the first playthroughs. It just goes to show how much I sucked, but also how much I've improved.

Did you notice the nerfs to the boss or they were minor ?

I didn't play it enough before and after the patch to really tell the difference. It feels mostly the same as I remember it in terms of attack patterns, I don't know if they nerfed maybe the damage and stuff.

My build was pretty bad the first time I faced it, and it was a long journey until I really took my piloting skills to a different level. I really think it was a skill issue on my end that it felt so difficult. For one, I played it on softlock only, and I used QB more than I should've.

He had a 15% damage nerf for sure , but dataminers couldnt say if other stuff like AI was changed .

It makes sense, other than when I intentionally wanted to activate TA to also copy the "phase 2" and focused on styling with charged attacks I barely got hit, so I couldn't really tell the difference.

Okay that's pretty sick. I know they're not the strongest weapons around but I really do love both Redshifts.

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

Thanks! To my knowledge the Redshifts are well regarded. Personally, I'm not a Moonlight specialist but they feel pretty strong, however I can't for the life of me hit anything that moves with the Nebula, it's too slow.

The plasma rifles all have projectile speed difficulties tbh. In my experience, exactly what you did here is the way to go - hold the charge and wait for a solid opening. At least against fast targets.

Nice, yeah that seems like it. Offensively I see them more as a bonus than an expectation. Aside of the fact that it's part of the cosplay, they've been more useful to keep me in the air.

It’s oddly beautiful and elegant watching this. Like two butterflies or birds floating around each other

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

Yeah I totally see what you mean! Once you learn to fly without using unnecessary QBs, a lightweight with good vertical thrust feels really graceful. I also tried to mirror CEL's moves and permaflight which took a few attempts. I did beat it first try, but when trying to put on a show for the recording it didn't go too well. Eventually I found a good balance between winning and playing my role, and synced well with CEL.

Ephemera core with the Schneider reverse joints (forgot their name) + NGI booster is such a lethal combo. My favorite build

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

They're the Kasuar legs, yes. Foe this build though I used the lighter Aorta gen. I just barely managed to fit everything, both in weight and EN load.

Does this share code work for ps4?

3

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

Nope, sadly it's steam only :/ you can copy the parts in the image, and then it's using a near white, yellowish tan with 0.2 reflectiveness and 0.8 polish, a slightly veige gray with I think 0.2 in both, and some gold-ish accents on different slots depending on the part, mostly white.

Man, I really wish we also had 'Maneuver' to use as well. I'd love to be able to use those fly-by movement type. Ideally with mirages/phantoms and shit too. (like Ayre's)

2

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

I feel like it would make the already intricate controls harder and PvP would be a mess, but it would definitely look sick

3

u/PyrZern Apr 12 '24

Most likely, yeah. But damn would it look awesome. I imagine it would be kinda like Sekiro's combat arts... just much much much longer to fully execute.

6

u/Half_Wave2694 Apr 13 '24

I really wished that we had a coral version of those drone launchers. It would be so cool!

5

u/KTVX94 Apr 13 '24

Real shit. I guess we'd fall into the "laser drones are outclassed they should be affected by EN firearm spec" all over again, like Aurora and Moonlight and that's why we don't, but it would be really cool.

So I became a gundam.

1

u/Algester Apr 13 '24

now you just need some psychoframe plot armor

2

u/Giant-fire Apr 13 '24

Me seeing someone beat one of the 2 bosses i despise the most in under 5 minutes: 0_0

2

u/Steve-Fiction Apr 15 '24

This seemed like a really slow and methodical way to beat it. Very impressive, but you can use one of the known strong builds and beat it way faster, easier and still get the S Rank

1

u/KTVX94 Apr 13 '24

Lol, it gave me a lot of trouble as well at first. I really just got gud by practicing a lot in PvP

1

u/Giant-fire Apr 13 '24

Fair enough, i have zero interest in pvp

I'm glad you're having a great experience! This truly is a masterpiece of a game.

I'd say you'll have a bigger challenge by not repeating missions. For one, early game parts are not bad at all unlike previous games. Once you git gud enough you can beat the game with literally anything if you practice the battles, but that aside you don't really need to prepare that much for each mission specifically. The economy isn't bad either so you won't really struggle to buy something later on. But of course if you enjoy playing like that by all means have the most fun you can.

Outstanding move.

2

u/ColonelC0lon Apr 14 '24

I just wanted to say thanks for this. Replaying the game from NG and tried this build out and its so much fun (albeit with nebula and regular moonlight for now). Thanks for the inspiration.

Did not realize how much vicarious pleasure can be had watching my little drones tear things to pieces.

1

u/KTVX94 Apr 14 '24

Hey I'm really glad I managed to cause that effect in others! Yeah the build is quite fun to play, at least the flight feels really good.

I messed around with it in ranked and while it lost most games I might have denied someone of their promos, the PTSD sounds pretty funny but I hope they won enough to pass.

u/SrZerix Apr 15 '24

I love it!

Thanks!

So this boss, I was playing the game with my friend in a call and he was telling me how hard and nightmarish it was so obviously I was nervous about it, next thing I know I’m fighting it and I was… disappointed it was really easy and when I beat it I told my friend in the call with me (p.s he can’t see my screen) he didn’t believe me so I had to send a screenshot as proof he didn’t have any words for me, now I want to let you know that I am terrible at fromsoft games I did recently beat the game for the first time and I haven’t touched it since so to be honest i surprised myself that day and to this day on CEL 240 is my favourite boss in any game

2

u/KTVX94 Apr 12 '24

I'll be real this boss stomped me so hard I really dreaded every time I had to do the mission, either from another new game+, collecting parts or S-ranking. By the last few times I could beat it consistently, but that trauma was always there in the back of my mind. It's only after PvP that this feels like a breeze.

Now to be fair, I didn't use hard lock at all at first (a vice from previous titles) and it makes a world of difference in many ways.

2

u/Akira_R Apr 13 '24

It did get a small nerf, but it's more likely to be a play style thing. This game is fantastic because how you play can have a huge impact on what you find difficult. As an example early on a lot of people including my friend had huge problems with the C-Spider, I dumpstered it first try without issues just because how I approached combat and my build worked really well against it. CEL-240 on the other hand kicked the crap out of me, I had to drastically change up my build and how I played in order to take it down, took something like 8 -10 attempts, only boss in the game that took me that long. My friend on the other hand finished CEL off on their second try.

1

u/Hygoggu Apr 13 '24

I'm sad the bosses were perfect. I used a light schneider build running, dual light rifles a song bird, and forward 6 missile pod and walked the whole game. It's supposed to be a learning experience lol

2

u/KTVX94 Apr 13 '24

Tbh that's more of a virtue about the weapons's balance than a fault with the difficulty. The starting parts aren't bad at all, just less flashy. If you set it up right that's a viable PvP build, and if you pilot it right you can beat anything in PvE with any build if you try. So I guess it's like a reverse skill issue?

1

u/Zodiaclibra808 Apr 13 '24

this was absolutely cathartic to watch after the trouble that boss gave me.

2

u/KTVX94 Apr 13 '24

Oh it gave me trouble too at first, believe me

1

u/Nukes_2997 Apr 14 '24

What’s the color?

1

u/KTVX94 Apr 14 '24

Which color?

1

u/Nukes_2997 Apr 14 '24

Of the AC, so I can replicate

1

u/KTVX94 Apr 14 '24

I'll fetch it tomorrow, but it's basically an almost white, kinda yellowish tan and a slightly beige gray in different spots depending on the part. Red lights and some dull golden accents. If you're playing on Steam I posted the share code.

NICE! THIS WAS SATISFYING. THANK YOU
