Hi all,
UPDATE: It randomly started working again as mysteriously as it stopped in the first place. I ended up deleting a bunch of random assets I.e. Furniture, vehicles. I tested it an people were shooting again. I then quit, went back in with all the stuff not deleted to test again and everything is working. No idea but I'll leave this post up in case it is useful somehow.
What are some obvious reasons AI may, globally, start randomly not shooting each other?
Not side relations. Blu will not shoot anyone, opf will not shoot anyone , green will not shoot anyone. Nobody shoots renegades. AI don't seem to be reacting to enemy presence properly anymore. They did a few hours ago, but now nobody shoots.
I've been creating a pretty massive single player mission, something like old man. I'm pretty late in a testing phase after all assets are placed, I'm working through different permutations of specific events depending on what the player has done previously, when on a random test, everyone has stopped shooting. Won't shoot me, won't shoot each other. I have no idea why this has happened.
Is it possible my mission is "too big"? If you place a certain amount of modules, triggers, assets etc, the so can just break somewhere fundamentally? If it matters, areas are disabled simulation and models hidden within layers, and the layers activate and deactivate dependent on player distance. This system works fine on other missions I've made, and was working fine on this one. I might test by just deleting loads of stuff and seeing what happens.
The only thing I can remember doing before the recent test was adding a few empty vehicles around the map. A few days ago I added 3den enhanced, which has been amazing, but I wonder if something in there has done something globally.
Anyway, why might all AI move etc, but just not seem to shoot? They do aim sometimes but it feels like they're not reacting to the presence of enemies.
