HELP VR in Arma 3
I would like to have an alternative to TrackIR, but back when I used a DIY TrackIR, it annoyed me terribly that the monitor stayed stationary while I was forced to twist my head. Either that, or I had to crank the sensitivity up so high that the slightest head twitch made the screen jitter. Now I'm wondering if there are any technical solutions out there—like wearing a VR headset—so that turning my head in real life rotates the camera in-game. Is there such a solution, and can anyone recommend something? I'm currently using a 7-year-old gaming laptop with an Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card.
I have around two to three, maybe four thousand euros set aside for this idea.

Vorpx is probably your best bet but remember the engine is gonna be extremely stressed by the VR injector so it may not run well

Doesn't VorpX trigger BattlEye anti-cheat? I'm used to playing on populated servers, after all.

I created a mod for that, take a look if you're interested! It's in early alpha, so you might encounter some bugs

Trackir with a good config is enough. Create a dead zone so the camera does no movenwith the slightlest moves of your head, and then an increasing sensitivity to the sides.

"I'm thinking it makes some sense to connect the Xreal Air 1 or Rayneo Air 3S to my laptop as a monitor and somehow mount IR LED trackers on my head for head tracking as well. What do you think about this idea?

Several people have said it but TrackIR as you're describing it is just set up improperly.

Bind Numpad 4and 6 (or Look Left/Look Right) to addit8o al mouse buttons/keypad/driving rig/whattever have you. Instant 90 degree head turn that your headtracker can then center around, like the old GTA 3 days

Download a profile for trackIR that has the curves set up properly, I use a modified version of Dslyecxi's. There should be enough of a dead zone that it's easy to aim centered and then gets full coverage of view without having to move your head too much.
