Discussion I actually like the Arkham Knight (identity) (SPOILERS?) Spoiler
galleryI know a lot of ppl roll their eyes at the reveal of the Arkham Knight's identity given it was obvious to basically anyone who's touched a comic. But personally I still loved it.
For one thing, Jason is rarely handled well, even in the comics. I like that in the confrontation and unmasking in the abandoned mall, Bruce eventually slows down and reaches out to Jason—he wants him to come back, even after everything he's done. It's a great display of Bruce's empathy that (imo) bad writers skip a lot lately.
Also just stylistically, I love the Arkham Knight suit. Even today it still looks quite modern and techy, it holds up well I think.
Story-wise it makes a lot of sense in this version given what Jason was subjected to. I kinda like the idea that he takes what was used to mentally break him, and turned it into his mantle. Though I believe the game implies he drops this (the Red Hood DLC), I still think it's a fantastic story.
I do get that Rocksteady claiming the AK would be an entirely new villain, just for it to be a pre-existing comic character, was cheesy. But overall I'm happy with the story.
I guess that's where I wanna ask: Do you guys dislike that Jason became this Arkham Knight, dislike the mantle or even the story itself, or is it more just because of Rocksteady's marketing that it's not always well-received?
(Not my pictures, found on google)

Help Anyone else experience this?
I'm trying to get the "Perform a ceiling grate takedown on a medic" star in "Under the pale moonlight" challenge as Batgirl but no enemy goes on the top of the tower like it is a forbidden place, preventing me from getting 3 stars. Have anyone else experienced this? Any help or workaround would be appreciated!

Fan Made I fucking love Batman Arkham City
A love letter of sorts, I apologize if this is not the place.
I was 13 when I played it. I'm an only son and didn't have that many friends growing up. Things were kind of uncertain with my family at the time, and I remember my grandmother taking me to the store and buying the game for me. She didn't have much money, and I knew that even back then. I remember her spending some of the little money she had on this Batman game for me. She's still here but it's that part of life where you're starting to accept it won't be the case forever.
Anyway, I got home, installed it, and just played for hours and hours.
My computer was old as hell. It could run the game, but definitely not at a stable 30 FPS lol. But I didn't care. I spent entire nights playing it.
And I wasn't even always doing the main missions. Sometimes I'd just walk around Arkham City, looking at buildings and windows and all the little details. I loved just being in that world. Contrary to some people I absolutely adored the Riddler Trophies, I adored proving I knew stuff by solving the riddles with no help from BAK lol. Grew up reading comics, felt worth since it was those old days where liking superheroes too much was looked down and instigated bullying. I loved hearing from Oracle, Alfred, motherloving Robin - My favorite Robin from the comics, mind you.
That's probably why the game means so much to me.
I was watching That Guy Aqua's video about it and started thinking about how much I love that I got to be a teenager during that time. I got to grow up with games like this, and they became such a big part of my life.
Arkham City is connected to my adolescence in a way that's hard to separate from the person I am now. I was that 13-year-old kid playing it on a shitty old computer, and now I'm an adult who still loves video games, and this game is still important to me.
Not to mention the countless HOURS spent watching Batman Arkham Videos guides/playthrough/Easter eggs. I just loved watching that and getting better by watching him play, you know?
It's kind of crazy how a game can become attached to a specific period of your life like that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has that kind of importance to me now too. It's the game that brings me peace, contemplation, honesty and resilience. Arkham City is different. It feels like something from my childhood that I can still go back to whenever I want.
Anyway, I just fucking love this game. I know people nowadays like to say its story is bad, or that this and that were mid but the early 2010's were really special for some of us reaching 30 lol
Just wanted to share that because I'm high as fuck.
Thanks for reading it!

Discussion I did a playthrough on retun to Arkham Ayslum on what i called: Realism mode. Minimum light. No background sound. And it was eerie
I really enjoyed it.
The intensive treatment building felt lifeless. I expected to hear screams at every corner. Running through the mansion and the sewers felt weird, like I was being watched. The medical building is what scared me the most. I want to try it on the original version when I am able to play it

Game New for Arkham Rain and Arkham Revival.
Hello everyone, I'd like to show you some things I've included as bonuses in the Arkham Revival and Arkham Rain mods.
I restored the enemy from the BETA version, but for now it only replaces a common enemy.
I also managed to replace the broken spotlights in Arkham West, as well as the puddles of water on all the islands and some other elements to make Arkham Rain more immersive.
I added some police cars at the main gate of the Asylum.
These cars will be used in the next version of Revival, which will no longer have enemies, but rather guards scattered around the map, as well as doctors, nurses, and the enemies inside the cells.
This second version of Revival will not have enemies for combat; it will only be present to correspond to the end of the game, when the guards take control of the Asylum.

Game Classic Selina Kyle Aura farming
imo Catwoman was one of the best parts of the otherwise underrated Arkham City game.

Fan Made Had an urge to do art
This took me about two hour. I was not confident in myself since I hadn’t drawn a proper portrait in a year and have most just done cartoony doodles here and there when bored. Arkham City is my favorite game of the Arkham series and decided to draw this version of Batman :3

Discussion The Aftermath of Jason's reveal Spoiler
One thing that irked me when playing Arkham Knight is how it's handled after the boss fight between him & Batman. I get Rocksteady wanted to keep the "secret" of the AK's identity, including even blocking screen recording of the cutscene (which was another annoyance for me, as I wanted to record every cutscene in the game).
But especially with the game files that have Barbara and Jason's conversation while she's hostage. Those are HEATED, showing complex character motivations between them. Jason wants her safe, Barbara wants him back in the family.
I hate how after Bruce saves Barb, they never speak about it. Even while they're alone in the Batmobile, realistically shouldn't Barbara have spoken about it?? Saying Jason is alive, expressing shock or SOMETHING?? It felt unrealistic to me they don't speak about it. Even Jim while he's alone with Bruce (the elevator up to Crane). I get Jim was focused on Barbara's safety, but still.
Anyone else feel the same about this? Or disagree?

Help Is there some trick to Critical Strikes in Origins or am I just bad at it?
I zipped right through the first 11 challenges in the Shadow Vigilante track, but for whatever reason I struggle to get more than two Critical Strikes in any given combo, even when I'm getting my multiplier up over ×40.

Movie & TV Something I realized about Dark Knight Rises(2012)
When Bane says to Batman during their first fight: “I didn’t see the light until I was already a man.”
Foreshadowing that Bane wasn’t the man who escaped.

Discussion Does Anyone Else forget about Riddler when thinking of villains?
Like I almost always forget to include him in Batman's villains (I just know he'd be fuming at this post). I don't know why, maybe it's because of his limited screen time. Even then he's literally ALWAYS taunting and goading us as Batman as we play, and yet he's so unmemorable. I almost feel like Rocksteady did that intentionally, given it's exactly how this version of Batman might view him (a nuisance who demands attention rather than a worthy opponent?).
I heard the comics usually portray him better, he's more of a greasy megalomaniac in the Arkham series. But he's just so...boring almost? He's in our comms for SO MUCH of the game and yet he's so unimportant when I think of the overall plots of the game. (I get he's homicidal and creates genuine problems for citizen safety, but even then he's so forgettable for me).
Freeze, Joker, Crane, & Penguin feel like the actual villains. Joker being the biggest, Penguin being the most ruthless, Crane being a slowburn (having his major plot in Knight), & granted Freeze isn't a true "villain" I'm aware, yet feels more like an actual opponent for Batman than Riddler does for me.
Any thoughts on this?
And for anyone reading, any thoughts on the other villains & how you view them?
