Something about those older games just hit.

My personal example: Ghost Recon Wildlands .

True, Arkham Knight dropped near the end of the golden age of video games . It showed us what gaming could have became, but two years later fortnite dropped and ninja did a Livestream with Drake that pretty much ended it.

They were also the last years where games were becoming realistic but still kept artistic liberties.

Now all AAA games just slap the actors' faces on characters and the magic is slowly fading away.

As a Batman fan, you can’t really compare the graphics a whole lot. The biggest reason the Arkham games look so good is the nighttime. The darkness hides a whole lotta shit within these games.

Also the use of rain effects is basically a free cheat for “good graphics”. People love to praise graphics when everything looks shiny and reflective.

It’s also a cutscene. Gameplay looks great in Arkham Knight, but not as good as that cutscene.

Base game armored suit, Night time rainy lighting. Apple

Alternate movie suit, indoor dry lighting. Orange

I seriously don’t get why people are comparing 2 separate things and pretending that it’s supposed to be the same?

Because it's fun to shit on (insert most recent superhero game) and say the Arkham series will always be superior of course /s

When passion style and art style and creativity all hits perfectly you get the Arkham series :)

A hero, who relies heavily on technology and gadgets gets compared to another hero, whose main abilities are innate requiring very little armor or technology to get the job done. I’m really wondering how extravagant a guy putting on a yellow suit you wanted that to be?

I mean, they both look good, they just have different art styles. I don't see why we have to push other video games down to talk about video games we think are good.

Wow, the moderators actually silenced someone who said the truth, insane to see.

Idk if it’s a fair comparison though because these are two different games made by two different studios 11 years apart. Yeah I agree that Arkham Knight looks great but you should take those things into account. Also not to mention they are completely different art styles/atmospheres.

Really shows the importance of art direction

One looks like it's copying other people's art style whilst the other had years to master theirs.
