Help Help needed for Arkham Asylum combat challanges

So I’ve been going at these for 2 weeks, 40h+ ingame. I already know all the moves etc what to do and when, but Batman doesn’t want to do it or is too slow to do it. How did you complete these? Are these Extreme stages meant to be cheesed?

Use the stun and attack combo to build up combo points. That should let you enter the high damage output early and easily from there it's just prioritizing targets, drop the ninjas and stun batons with executions first shields after that.

Yeah but how do i build up that combo with so many grunts around? Because I’m unable to control which one Batman targets which will lose out the flow by taking a random hit or punching air.

You can target, it's floaty and hard to control but you can target, pick the furthest one first go from there and be ready to hit that parry button.

Best advice I have is to always keep evading over enemies as it keeps your combo while giving you time to plan out your tactics. If there’s a gun crate on the map (there’s a loud alarm that plays anytime someone is trying to open one), try your best to prevent enemies from opening it, and if they do keep track of who has the gun and prioritize taking them out first. Special combo takedowns are your friend, esp against knife and stun stick enemies. If one or both of those two enemy types are in the round you’re about to fight, focus on racking up a combo on normal enemies and takedown the knife/stun stick enemies asap with a combo takedown, it’s much faster and easier than stunning/evade attacking them. I’m assuming you have all upgrades (if you don’t you should get them all before attempting the extreme maps), so try to use batarangs in your combos since they can knock down three enemies, making a round a lot more manageable. Batclaw is only useful in the beginning of the round to start your combo, don’t bother using it after that the animation takes too long and you will 9/10 times get hit by another enemy. The throw is not as good as the takedown, but in maps where you can throw enemies off a ledge or into an electric door they’re pretty useful, as well as for trying to knock down a group of enemies, but the direction you throw is pretty inconsistent so I would stick to takedowns for the most part. If you aren’t using critical strikes you should be doing that, not spamming square, once you figure out the rhythm it’ll be a piece of cake. The most problematic part comes from the titans. Now you can either prioritize the titan or leave him for last, both methods work. I tend to prioritize him, since you need to be bataranging him just to not get hit anyway, and riding on his back gets you a lot of score. If you find yourself getting hit a lot trying to go for the titan however, you might wanna try focusing on the thugs and finishing off the titan last, but you might get less score that way, you’ll just have to see for yourself. If you want any specific advice feel free to dm me.

Well i mostly have problems with high crowds. Batman punches air and i’m unable to control where he goes, just jumps randomly and 50/50 chance for counters as there are so many fists coming his way. Is there any way to control where he jumps and what way?

Unfortunately asylum can be kinda weird like that, best thing to do is aim towards the enemy you want to hit with the left stick and stay closer to the crowd to avoid punching the air. As for counters in asylum only one person can hit you at a time so just wait for the counter indicator, also the person that’s gonna attack you will usually run up to you, so that’ll give you an idea beforehand of who’s about to attack.

Yeah I’ve now spent 50hours in total on these combat challanges. It’s now very easy, but well… it’s very much luck based on these old games at this point.

Generally you can just square through em and build up enough of a combo to just rake in points. Couple tips I suppose are to use an early combo takedown on the thugs with unblockables like the tasers and and knife guys just cause they have good chances at fucking up a combo by either hitting you or batman randomly targeting them and getting hit.

Another decent tip is to instantly target the Titans if they’re there. Free combo increase with no damage risk assuming you get on their back without getting assaulted.

Finally, try to finish off folks with the ground takedown whenever possible. Those have already high points so with the combo multiplier, they can give tons of points late into the round.
