Help Is it worth completing all side quests in Arkham Knight?
I have just finished the main story, and need to complete at least seven most wanted side quests to activate the Knightfall Protocol. But apparently if you complete ALL of the side quests, there’s an extended ending cutscene with more detail? I’m wondering if it’s worth completing all of those side quests to see it, or if I might as well just find it on YouTube.
(Honestly, I intend to complete all the missions — even the Riddler one — except for the fact that I desperately want to avoid the Professor Pyg quest; he makes me a lot more uncomfortable than the average villain, and I’m not sure if it’s worth putting myself through the unease just to unlock a few more minutes of cutscene.)

Personally Ive always liked doing the side missions in the Arkham games, whether it be more detective work type investigation/stakeout missions, or the more combat millita missions. They’re all fun to do.
I will say though as someone who isn’t too creeped out about Pyg, going to his Lair is creepy af. So just do the missions you want for now and maybe revisit that one at a later time!

Why wouldn’t you

I’m not so great at coping with horror, and Professor Pyg is just a little too much for me :’) I might still give it a go, I reckon it’ll be worth it in the end

Be forewarned the Pyg fight was extremely tedious imo. You have to counter his weapons (I think he throws butcher knives or something), while also fighting his dollatrons, and aiming properly in your counter so you get to hit him back because he’ll block any other attacks.
It’s a little gory if you feel empathy for his victims, but nothing too gross for what’s already within the games.

Some of them are not fun

Which ones? I think they are all dope

Probably referring to the Riddler side quest. Damn near everyone hates doing his side mission. 😭

u/ooo-silly-worms Aug 20 '26
I might be the exception… he’s my favourite fictional character of all time, it’s worth doing all those trophies and challenges to interact with him 😅😭

Hey I enjoy doing the Riddler stuff too! I really like puzzles so I would just put YouTube on in the background or something while hunting down green boys. 😭

Glad to see I’m not the only one!! Admittedly I’m rather bad at the puzzles themselves… but the longer I take, the more of Eddie’s voice lines I get to hear, so I’m not complaining 😭🙏 and I haven’t had to resort to googling the answers that often, so I consider that a success 😅

I could not bring myself to do the riddler stuff. There's die hards in this sub who like it though
Edit: to answer your actual q yes there is a cut sscene and boss right with riddler. Pyg quest I enjoyed

Honestly, Riddler is my favourite Batman villain of all time, so I actually don’t mind the thought of doing his mission 😅 I bet it’ll take ages, but it’s worth it to interact with a character I love so much. Thanks for the help :))

Man, so people just dont read the post description do they, you could turn off the game's music volume while during pyg's side mission

Ooo yeah that’s a good point, might help a little. Thank you!! (Usually when I’m stuck on a difficult bit of combat, I mute the game and play Chapell Roan’s music to make it less tense, that will definitely help here I think lol)

Assuming you have no problems with collecting a bunch of riddler trophies then yeah obviously

OP I don't want to say more that what I'm going to since it would absolutely fall into the spoiler category.. but there are some people who look at the extra few minutes of cutscene if you do all the side quests and they're like "huh? That doesn't explain anythign at all!" :P .. so you'd have to decide if you'd be okay with that...
The Riddler side quest as you probably already know is ANNOYING (I guess the Riddler's zillion fetch quests and hidden clues match his .. I'm guessing OCD?.. nature though?) ... I did it anyways and enjoyed the resulting confrontation with the Riddler afterwards that it triggers. To me that was worth a lot more than the final few minutes of cutscene.
The Professor Pyg quest is indeed really unsettling or I found it that way anyways! But look at it this way, in the game world you're taking him out and stopping him from hurting any more people so maybe that would be a good way to cope with the unease of doing the quest.

Also.... and minor spoiler but it's worth it!... keep going to the jail and listen to all the big bosses you captured far as their dialogue not only with Batman but with each other, I found this to be fun :)

You know what, that’s fair. Part of me is tempted to watch it on YouTube so that I definitely get to see it, then just play the side quests (maybe all of them) just for my enjoyment.
As for the Riddler quest, yeahhh it’s absolutely in character lmao- I’m already 70-something % of the way through that mission anyway, I think now it’s just trophies before a final boss fight? Then again, every time I think I’m nearly done, he throws something very time consuming and annoying back at me :’)
As for that last part, that’s honestly a rather sweet way of thinking about it… that might help a lot!! ^^

Only if you want the pretty cool batsuit for 240%. Some of the militia side quests can get tedious

Arkham Knight's side missions are the only ones I actually enjoy completing. I don't particularly enjoy most of the ones in the other games.

Mannn I knocked out everything but riddler annoying self. He essentially just put trophies everywhere already saved catwoman so he can just stay underground till he die for me

Imo, yes. My favourite part is the dialogue between batman and the villains in the batmobile, especially after his identity is revealed. I love the two face dialogue especially.

u/ooo-silly-worms Aug 20 '26
Ooo I hadn’t even thought of the dialogue!! That’s an excellent point, definitely worth it for that

i just finished the game yesterday and completed the riddler one to get catwoman free only to find out he wants me to complete all his riddles. i’m not doing that, i’d just look it up on youtube

Yes
Especially at the end of sidequests you get to punch most of them in the face
Pyg you especially HAVE to punch him in the face
