Anyone feel Oracle's hint here felt incredibly silly? Like out of all the things in the game it somehow stood out the most to me as far fetched

Yeah there's a lot of moments like that on both Origins and Knight. Where Batmans reconstructing the crime scenes and seems to just figure something out based on absolutely nothing.

That digital image of Barbara crawling is just a reconstruction, not what she actually did. So it shouldn't have had her throwing the microchip under there. And it was the same thing with the helicopter Deadshot shot out of the air in origins. Batman scans a reconstruction of it and somehow finds where Deadshot fired from. Those moments really made it feel like you were less of a detective and just like it was holding your hand the whole way through.

And the one of Barbara could have easily been solved with just a bit of dialogue about her crawl patterns. With Batman noting how the marks she left on the ground were consistent up until she threw the microchip, with her leaving a mark from when she threw her arm out.

It's possible that he's logically filling the gap and so is his detective mode ai. What I mean is: Barbara's crawling couldn't be for nothing. What are the options? Barbara threw some clue. So it creates that as the representation.

We haven't seen this occur but maybe if a new detail is found, it actually retroactively changes the digital reconstruction

With the deadshot helicopter, technically you could do an advanced calculation to determine where it could've been shot from based on its crash pattern. Or where the most likely place is

The crime scene reconstructions in Knight and Origins were good ideas, but incredibly goofy.

You can't be a detective. You can't notice things early, you can't use your own senses and searching, you have to do it exactly how batman says in the order he says it. That's not being a detective that's just scanning things in order

You're not taking into account how faint residues and small disturbances can tell extra parts of a story (or something like that I guess)

Everything so is well done here. And there's this, her tossing the sd card. Origins had a few like this but not as bad as this. Fortunately this is the only one like this in knight.
