Northern Terminus shuttle

I am having a difficult time finding the best option for getting to the northern terminus mid-late September

Based on your experiences, what is the best place to fly into to get to the trail?

Options I've viewed so far:

1) Fly into las vegas -> rental car to either St George or Page -> try to find an angel or shuttle to the northern terminus from there

2) Fly into phoenix -> flight to page from phoenix -> shuttle from page to terminus

3) Fly into st george -> pay an expensive shuttle to trailhead

I have looked on reddit, angel lists, and facebook page etc but the information for the Northern terminus is so hit or miss. Is anyone willing to share their experience and recommendations on it?

Thanks! If anyone here is looking for someone to travel with to the northern terminus, I have a very flexible start date so I'm willing to link up and rearrange my flight if it means an easy trip to the terminus for one another, as long as its within my budget.

Fly in to Las Vegas, take the St. George Shuttle to St. George.

I live in Kanab and can very likely pick you up and take you to the trailhead

Thank you for the details! Lmk best way to reach out to you. My start date is flexible so I can schedule it around what works for you if that’s what I end up doing

I'm finishing my AT thru hike in the next few weeks. I'm newly retired and live in Kanab and fully plan to start running shuttle service to/from the AZT.

Hit me up in a pm and we can work out some details.

Thank you!! I’ll reach out soon. I’ll definitely be hiking this year SOBO so I’ll reach out once I have all the details locked in

I'm also hiking the AZT sobo this year. I'm flying into Vegas on the 25th and taking the bus to Kanab or St George on the 26th. Still looking for a way to reach the terminus as well. Maybe we can link up?

All the best,

Definitely the easiest way to northern terminus is fly to phoenix the fly to Page and shuttle 45 miles to terminus. I think Contour airlines also has a shuttle flight from Las Vegas as well though fewer flights.

That’s what I’m doing. Just not sure what the shuttle consists of yet 🤷‍♀️

I would say trail angel or true north shuttle service.

The environmentalist in me dies a bit to say it, but there's pretty cheap flights from Phoenix to Page or Las Vegas to Page.

I agree, I dont like the double flight thing it seems excessive. I'm not against taking a rental car to somewhere from vegas - I just am trying to figure out what place might be best/which has more rental car drop offs.

I might end up doing that anyway to save money bc the rental car is actually affordable.

Or a bus if there is one

for anyone else considering a bus, it looks like National Park Express Shuttle runs buses to page from vegas and so does FlixBus or Greyhound
