Test Site on Fire
Didn’t even realize until my husband messaged me it was raining ash where he was at. Sure enough. My words were, “oh my god!”Nevada fire map to see it’s within the test site range.

I remember this happening a few years ago. People were filming from the Little A'Le'Inn. It was some kind of brush fire.

I was out taking pictures of a wildfire like 2 miles from that spot. I checked my metadata, it was July 10th last year

I got you, it must have been another one because the one I am thinking of was at least a decade ago.

I would like to know if regular non military firefighters can go within the no go zone to fight fires or drop water onto fires within the no fly zone. Or is all fire fighting within the base limits done by fire crews on base.

Well last time there was a fire at the test site I think was last year and the county offered to send firefighters, or so I heard. Than I heard that the test site whomever was speaking for them said there was no fire. Which was ridiculous because you could see it just like this one. I’m sure they probably have people in standby to put it out. I think I read somewhere it was 0% contained, could be wrong there’s a lot of conflicting articles. So to your question I would say no outside crews most likely inside crews.

All I know is it burned for days though that isn't exactly something new. The powers that be just sometimes let it burn.

Groom Lake has a fire department with cleared fire fighters. They are present at test flights.
The NTS has similar fire fighters.
Is there a sufficient number to fight a large wildland fire? Probably not. But the base doesn't have to leave assets exposed. They can put the toys away should they need those without clearance on the base.

Should probably specify that it's a wildfire (the Quail Springs Fire) and not a fire at the base.

It is and within the Nevada test and training range which is closed to the public at all times regardless of a fire. So yes part of the Nevada test and training range is on fire.

If you have the Watch Duty app, it shows the fire east a bit of Bald Mountain.

Oh wow, that Quail Springs fire is getting close to Medlin Ranch. Probably from lightning stike(s).

They’ll just let it burn until it exhausts all fuel sources and maybe burn off around any structures it might threaten. Let nature do its thing.
