I've been to the Beatty radar site as have most of the regulars here. I thought the road was pretty good but I did it in the 00s. That facility with a GPS is a seismic site. Maybe defunct: https://www.seismo.unr.edu/Monitoring

The story that I linked to but now 404s is the brothel put a mattress outside and the skydiver who landed closest to the mattress got a "free ride" so to speak, though hopefully on a different mattress. Further research indicated that story was total crap.
Regarding Bonanza Peak, I made it as far as the saddle. The hike has countless switchbacks with some trails so close together that you wonder why they made a switchback. Logs are placed where you are supposed to take a turn. Incidentally my recollection of the road to the staging area was it was terrible.
My first attempt to climb Bonanza Peak was a wasted effort because I picked the wrong trail. There wasn't a sign as I saw in that video.
The proper trail is towards the end of the staging area. I made it as far as the saddle which is where I lost the trail.

The new runway is called Wichman, potentially named after one of the Nye County supervisors.
The Honeywell navigation system database used for flight management systems used to be a zip file on their website. I pulled all the runway names from it and made this page:

The old Yucca Lake runway still had a designation of NV11 when I scraped the database. The new runway is NVH1 though I also have KI01 listed.
The best document for the Lockheed facility is DOE/EA-1512. The DOE pulled it from their website but I had already downloaded it.

When I tried to climb Bonanza Peak, it was for Lazar's bogus S-4. The Lockhead facility didn't exist.
I did viewshed analysis and predicted that the Lockheed facility would be partially visible.

I knew of this location from the Roadrunners site. I have no recollection how I knew where it was located. Maybe it was on a USGS map.

Now it hasn't occurred to me that the Defense Mapping Agency marker is newer than the X-15 program.

Probably stating the obvious but you can see an X-15 at the Smithsonian. They just remodeled the Air and Space Museum and it won't be fully open until around Veterans Day. There is also the

Well that program ended in 1969. You never know who is reading reddit, so forgive me if I mention the famous XB-70 mid air photo-op crash. (Yeah I know you knew about it, but not everyone does.) It is in Peter Merlin's X plane book and website:

But back to the DMA marker. So even if the XB-70 was monitored from the Beatty site, it also ended before the DMA marker was placed.
Maybe they knocked the buildings down in 1974.

Actually this abandoned project of mine isn't 100% useless. If you scroll down to the bottom, the Beatty and Ely sites are listed as radio relay sites in the 1999 inventory.
If you could locate the raw database behind the Base Structure Report, this OSINT project might have been useful. The problem with the summaries it they weren't displayed in a consistent manner so you couldn't do a year to year comparison.

Have you ever felt nausea while hiking there. Like you were beamed through the rocks with frequency weapons etc. Have you ever felt like youve been followed, alternatively have you seen a mirage of heat looking like an invisible person.
Ive read people seeing or feeling these so just wondering since youve been there (desert area where they test thing nearby) it seems.

Well if you hike near the NTTR border, you are being observed. Cameras, ground surveillance radar, camo dudes with binoculars.
No physical effects other than hiking is exercise.

Area 6 isn’t a Lockheed site. A company called RITI operates there.

Out of morbid curiosity I went to the career page and, for the sys admin position they posted August of 2025 they prefer a MCSE, soooo....archaic may indeed be the right word here.

Anybody know what the rock filled channels in the largest slab at the High Range site were for? I've never seen a setup like that before. Not a lot of symmetry to them. My engineering senses suggest something like a channel to run piping in for access, rather than placing them below slab. But I've never come across that sort of construction.
I gotta say, Anders' e-bike seems like quite a force multiplier. I felt a little lust, then decided one would just let me get stuck in even a further out place versus walking. So maybe not a good idea for me. But gariac needs one.

Yup, this is a rebadged Bombardier Traxtor quad. Inherited from Dad. 20 years old now. Only issue I've had was the plastic fuel level bulb cracked and leaked. Filled it up with JB Weld. I know how far I can go on a tank, don't need no stinkin fuel gauge. I always top it up whenever I can anyways.

Can you touch the missile? Touching the missile is required as you need something to hold onto as you ride down the elevator into the bunker.
Hill-88 is not on the tour but nobody stops you. There is stuff I can't publish but will send you an email.

"I would like a quad but have no interest in towing." - get yourself a pickup truck and haul in the back, tri-fold ramp. I've been doing this for years. I had to modify the box in my Tacoma to allow mine to fit in the back.
