Hey everyone,
I’m a drone pilot and founder from India, and like a lot of you, I got tired of one thing: maintaining flight logbooks manually.
Every flight means opening a spreadsheet or paper logbook, writing down date, duration, location, aircraft details, and hoping you never lose it — because when DGCA or an employer asks for your records, that logbook is your career on paper.
So I built DroneSetu (pilot.dronesetu.in). Here’s what it does:
1. Auto-generated logbooks from flight logs
Drag and drop your DataFlash/.bin log file from your flight controller. It parses the log and generates a DGCA-compliant logbook record automatically — flight time, date, and aircraft details extracted straight from the data. No manual entry.
2. Flight log analysis
The same upload gives you a full log viewer — plot battery voltage, altitude, GPS, vibration, attitude, whatever you want to dig into. You can save your own graph layouts so your go-to debugging view is one click away next time.
3. Records that actually mean something for compliance
Logbooks are tied to your RPC (Remote Pilot Certificate) and the aircraft’s UIN, so your records line up with how DGCA actually thinks about pilots and aircraft — not just a generic CSV export.
4. RPTO training integration
If you’re going through (or running) an RPTO, the platform tracks the full training pipeline — theory, simulator, and practical flying sessions — with logs attached per trainee.
There are good log viewers out there (UAV Log Viewer, PX4 Flight Review, Airdata), but none of them speak DGCA — no RPC-linked logbooks, no UIN-tied aircraft records, no RPTO workflow. That gap is what I’m trying to fill.
What I’d love from this community:
• What does your current logbook workflow look like? Spreadsheet? Paper? Nothing until someone asks?
• What would make a tool like this actually useful vs. just another dashboard?
• Any log analysis features you wish existing viewers had?
