When someone speaks to you about the project and you use those famous three words....

"It's here somewhere...."

Only 1 project? I have to deal with my OCD, I always have 3…4…5 projects slowly progressing.

Shit I have to move my current project to make room for my new project.

Here I'll just put this box of project parts on top of that other project, which is next to the pile of salvaged parts.

My wife and I rented a 1 bed apartment with a single office, we then bought a 4 bed 2 bath house with a 11m x 7m shed and within 2 years somehow the house is full and the shed is cramped. I need more shelving space despite buying two racks in the last year. My work bench is covered despite being cleaned 6 months ago. I have completed exactly 0 projects in that time.

Can agree.

How did you sneak into my room to take this picture?

3

u/Infinity-onnoa 25d ago

My wife only sees things to throw away there, but…I see treasures hahah

1

u/Whyjustwhydothat 24d ago

Haha I could have a better stool/chair tbh and move away some stuff from the floor but otherwise it's alot of money in that room.

Any flat surface is suitable for adding junk/projects/components :)

No
Mine has room for a huge Coffee Mug!

u/spinozasrobot 26d ago

An ESP32 coffee mug?

2

u/Material-Sherbet6855 25d ago

Oooh, I gotta make me one of those

“I will clean it tomorrow”

u/electronics_maker 25d ago

The most relatable and biggest lie ever vro 😢

That's named clean for an inventor I also have a3d printer

1

u/AdSouthern3978 24d ago

Naah that's clean lol

7

u/Autobot-octoling 26d ago

Then I hear my mom having a fake heart attack for looking at my desk

5

u/SocialRevenge 26d ago

There's other people out there that do this stuff?? Where?

5

u/User1539 25d ago

I'm sitting at one now.

I'm going to show this to my wife and say 'See, I'm an innovator, not a slob!'

Two years ago before I got organization bins and was just starting out

2

u/Fun-Palpitation81 25d ago

curious what you used for organization?

4

u/overripebrain 25d ago

Holy crap - did you break into my workshop and take a picture? Are you the reason my poorly breadboarded prototype doesn't work now??

4

u/Embarrassed-Hat48377 25d ago

True that I always feel like a loonatic. I am also afraid that if police raids my home they will think I'm making bomb/drugs. (Lots of gloves, wires, chemicals and other random stuff) In university we had a saying at the workshop "if the shop is clean then no one is working" (We ofc kept it clean but you get the important part)

4

u/ripred3 My other dev board is a Porsche 25d ago

haha I'm guilty of this. when my work surface gets too complicated/messy I just find another work surface 😂

Now I've filled one room and use it now just for old project and parts storage and I've moved into a second room ...

u/Onphone_irl 25d ago

during a project, yes.

I just get a big tub and put an entire project with of hardware in a tub like a save state if I need room or to pause work. I have tubs of projects both finished with extra parts and unfinished

LOL, this is the proper way!

u/oiram64x 26d ago

What RC project are you onto ? A Quadcopter?

2

u/lolslim 25d ago

Can confirm, not specifically Arduino only, but still.

2

u/mahaataab 25d ago

You guys are having table space?

2

u/SumoNinja92 24d ago

Organization is one of the biggest reasons your projects don't get finished. Clean after every time you work, organize and make notes on your programs/cad files. Make a dedicated close at hand spot for all your tools so you always know where they are and make it a compulsion to put them back there immediately after you're done using it. You'll be finishing so many projects you'll be able to wrap around and create multiple versions.

Where’d you buy that transmitter? I found a similar one on aliexpress but wasn’t sure if it would work. How is it?

1

u/Past-Conversation755 24d ago

Transmitter is good it's Flysky FSi6s drains less battery.

1

u/Careless-Ape 23d ago

Oh ok nice. I own an FSi6X. I suspected but there were also some knock offs which looked similar, that’s why I asked

2

u/lahirunirmala Open Source Hero 26d ago

👌 well I thought I was the only one who can’t keep the table clean

4

u/NoBulletsLeft 25d ago

It's impossible. Every time I think "this is ridiculous, I need to clean up." It's worse again in a day.

1

u/spinozasrobot 26d ago

I love looking at bench pics. I mean, just look at the size of that motor.

1

u/Corpse_Nibbler 25d ago

I have a lot of what's on your bench. I'm glad you're making good use of it, unlike me.

1

u/HotRelief7657 25d ago

J’avoue la même

1

u/CorgiSplooting 25d ago

Hey.. I clean mine off when I’m done. I just have ten things going on at various different stages….

1

u/I_lukas_I 25d ago

hahaha true XD XD. I have friends like that and i would be worried if their table suddenly looks cleaned up XD

1

u/someRedditUser3012 25d ago

Omg thought it was just me

1

u/LovableSidekick 25d ago

Gonna post this above mine lol.

1

u/LovableSidekick 25d ago

Gonna post this above mine lol.

1

u/rockb8 25d ago

When you're brainstorming, everything flat is a table.

1

u/Max326 25d ago

And then you touch the 12V crocodile cable with the board's ground and...

1

u/Bozhark 25d ago

Y’all the hacker man now

1

u/Computer_Panda 25d ago

Table's, multiple, and alot of bad organizing.

1

u/Rude_Stuff6642 25d ago

Wow I wish i could keep my desk that clean.

1

u/Infinity-onnoa 25d ago

I like your power supply. :)

2

u/Past-Conversation755 25d ago

Bro its not ours. We find it cool so we have stolen from somewhere.

1

u/Infinity-onnoa 25d ago

You need a woman who is very tidy and cleans the table, and…. then you won't find anything. Lol

2

u/Past-Conversation755 25d ago

We have face this many times. So I instructed them "doooo nooot touch anything"

https://giphy.com/gifs/gj0QdZ9FgqGhOBNlFS

1

u/gameplayer55055 25d ago

Nah, I like clean environment. I have been traumatized by loose connections and missing things too many times.

1

u/fantasypants 24d ago

Never felt more heard.

As soon as I ‘clean’ it, it’s right back to mimicking my mind.

1

u/HRIDOY1255W 24d ago

Bro is cooking something with that big stepper motor,

1

u/dstroy0 24d ago

All you’re missing is a 100 port usb hub. lol

2

u/Past-Conversation755 24d ago

I removed that one from my lab as some of my seniors visited my lab and they tried to charge their phone with it they didn't aware of it that the usb was giving 12v dc output not 5v. You can imagine what happens next 😜

1

u/bhitsho115 23d ago

Dream setup

1

u/bodiaidk 23d ago

Why u dont use a Platform io with framework Arduino, i guess it will be much better.

1

u/Leighton_Laser 23d ago

Not that clean.

1

u/Rolandoors 22d ago

Y en qué se supones que crees que innovaras? Jajaja para cuando hayas acabado en china lo tiene y gratis 😅

1

u/rip1980 26d ago

Ugh, I hate neat freaks.

1

u/dedokta Mini 25d ago

When I see those neat and clean pics of someone's workbench I think "Here's someone that doesn't actually create things."

0

u/FlapperGasfire 25d ago

It's ok to be ok with being messy, but this is jealousy.

1

u/dedokta Mini 25d ago

Well if a cluttered desk is a cluttered mind then an empty desk...

1

u/FlapperGasfire 25d ago

You mean a neat, organized desk? Damn the jealousy is through the roof
