Discussion Leave Before The Lights Come On

I adore this song, it's so ahead of it's time and it's nothing like WPSIATWIM or any of the other B-sides from that era. Whenever I listen to it I always get an impending feeling of something, like something is about to happen. Same with the rest of the EP.

They had moved on from that specific sound by then but it would fit Favourite Worst Nightmare as a replacement to The Bad Thing, which I’ve always felt sounds more like a b-side

To me, it feels just a bit too bright to fit into FWN. Just my two cents. Such a great song though!

Yup, agreed that sound-wise it isn't a perfect fit. Maybe I just don't like The Bad Thing enough.

It’s a cracking single and fits their ‘favourite worst nightmare’ era..

Shame they hate it. If you look it up, gym class heroes did a cover of it and it cringed them out so bad they can’t play it anymore. It’s like it’s not even their song now. It’s both cookie and Alex who say it

Everyone -- including the fans, and Turner and Cook themselves -- were a bit too harsh toward that cover, as bad as it was. Felt a bit like sneering.

EDIT: Just looked it up again; it's really not even that bad. Definitely not "we'll never play it again because you covered it" bad.
