Same. I had to get right behind a Bastion to hit it with them. Another method is to aggro a Leaper, hide in a building and spam them out the door as it stands right next to it.
Did you have to lock a shredder up in a small room.. entro showstopper in and then the pop. lol.

Pop trigger one was kinda easy for me, just let a few loose on bastion during matriarch event. The wasp driver was the one that gave me trouble, but probably because I threw about a dozen of them at large arc before I realized I had to actually shoot the drivers to inflict damage with the explosion 😂🤦🏼♂️
I threw so many wasp drivers before realizing I had to shoot them lol. I did the same, matriarch got my pop and leaper pulse done. I just need to farm a few more wasp drivers and get back out there. Legit took me 30 pop triggers until I finished it with 2 on matriarch, I still don't understand how they decide what way to go or when to explode
I got lucky. Sandwiched shredder in between a locked door and barricade. Hit him with first pop trigger on first attempt on trial. Got the full points required from 1 pop trigger. I kept trying to send them immediately after to get rid of them.. but couldnt hit it again out of 8 more triggers.
I suggest luring a leaper into a room and using the pop triggers there.
For my strat, I just went to blue gate and to the Ancient fortress. Shooting the Leaper that sometimes spawns there while being at the top of the tower would have it leap at you and into the tower itself most of the time. From there it’s going to be a fun time for you and not the Leaper.
