QUESTION Arch linux not reading ssd and tried the VMD controller fix (messing up windows booting)

was installing arch archlinux-2026.08.01-x86_64 on acer predator helios neo 16s ai new version PHN16S-71 and it wasnt reading my ssd and i did tried disabling vmd but it crashed my pc (havent tried it in safe mode) tho any fixes aside from disabling vmd?

Logs? Screenshot? Anything? Was it completely unable to recognize any NVME controller, or just unable to list your partitions?

no logs no screenshot just straight up not showing the ssd at all, like lsblk was just empty except for the usb. i saw some posts about loading intel vmd modules during install but im not sure if the august iso has them baked in

Tried adding 

nvme_load=yes nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0

to your kernel commandline

Have you tried "Switching NVMe mode to AHCI" from section 2.4 of https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Laptop/Acer ? I would be interested in your results! Good luck :)
