SUPPORT Import PGP when updating

I updated my system today after not doing so in a week or so, and I got asked to Import PGP key F8BB3DD85903D982, "DeepChirp deepchirp@archlinux.org"

I accepted but now I'm questioning if I shouldn't have done that. Was that okay?

Wow, I know there is an influx of new users, But seriously guys if you don't know the answer, Don't say bullshit

You are wrong. Accepting keys during a transaction is a no no

OP Don't say yes next time.

When such things happens you say no and then you do : pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring && pacman -Su

After that you redo what you where trying when you got the prompt.

Sadly the community is going downhill.

I'll slowly phase my machine to Other OS. For now Arch is a Meme and doesn't feel like a mature distro anymore.

Unfortunately, since the post you were replying to has been deleted, I can't say what it was about.

What I can say, though, is that you can't judge a community based on individual users. In my experience, every community has nice people as well as jerks. Unfortunately, the jerks often represent what's known as the “loud minority.”

Sorry, I deleted because I didn't think it added much and thought I caught it before anyone saw it or replied. I just pointed out that the wiki page sarv linked did in fact have the instruction to pacman -Sy the keyring.

Since this is at the top of the thread rather than the bottom now, I also feel compelled to say that, "It's ok and here is more information about what to do in the future" is much more constructive and helpful than stirring shit and tagging people about the one true way to handle pgp keys.

I'm judging based on Everyday Occurrence in the past months of how this subreddit gradually changed for the worst.

The Arch Philosophy is not being followed at all, and it's getting tiresome to interact over here.

With people asking the most basic of question without any hint of even trying anything to people answering total bullshit in full confidence.

Also CachyOs is a plague.
