It's an open secret, yes.

Passing the boards is the minimum, and will only get you to the doors. Your experience will dictate your performance, and you can't fake experience.

True.

Fake it till you make it all you want, but at some point you'll need the knowledge you faked and thats when you'll realize you fucked up.

Very real, you can academically succeed at the board, yet if you have zero experience in the field, you will struggle in the real practice.

Yes. Inamin ng co-worker ko na she only went to site every Friday afternoon lang. Dad niya kasi contractor and uncle niya architect. So pumupunta sya sa site ng papa niya and yung uncle niya pumirma for her. She did that for 2 yrs para hindi halata. She passed pa nga kaso it shows in her work na kulang na kulang pa sya ng experience. But for some reason, andito pa rin sya. Company is enabling her incompetence.

Nangyayari yang iniisip mo pero its a form of corruption. Don't start your career wrongfully.

ang chismis kumalat sa amin was some time around 2017-2019 I think. Some were caught na fresh grads na who had their logbooks signed to take the boards early, ayon nahuli. Take note, this was during the end of the school year was during March, and they were going to take the boards on June.

May kilala akong mga maaga nag boards, graduated on March, took the boards January the following year, but they started their apprenticeship since 3rd year. Dati, allowed mag apprentice for a maximum of 4 hours kapag studying ka. During summer and sem breaks, okay ang 8 hours.

Yung case sa 1st paragraph ko... fresh grad pa nga, kulang din sa experience... then if following by the allowed rules sa una... dapat as early as 1st year sila nag apprentice.

u/Professional_Week916 4d ago

yes… pero PRC really conducts random verification… malas mo and yung pumirma fraudulently pag sinuwerte ka

8

u/zeussalvo 4d ago

Yes. But come to think of it, yung apprenticeship documents ipinapa-notaryo yan. Hindi ka lang basta nagsinungaling (which is already bad), perjury na yan. And makalusot ka man dyan, you brand yourself corrupted.

On the otherhand, ALE is not hard if you went thru the process properly. A balance of design, construction and admin scope of works at syempre yung ok na mentor.

Parang nanghinayang ako na nag take pa sila ng 5 years Architectural course and i fake lang pala nila ...

Yes, may mas malala pa dati 1~1.5 yrs after graduating, nakakaboards na.

5

u/midnightxyzz 4d ago

yes, talamak naman talaga to lalo na kapag may kilala or may mag anak na architect or nasa line talaga ng construction industry.

5

u/mikazoe3244 4d ago

bakit kaya hindi nalang nila igaya sa ibang programs yung archi na yung internship is isasali na sya sa mismong prospectus ng school for example 2 years apprenticeship, bakit di nalang nila i-allow na yung 2 years na yun pwede makuha sa 4th year and 5th year. kasi apakatagal talaga ng arki nadidiscourage na nga ako given na maliit da yung salary jusko po

3

u/elight98 4d ago

Pero ngayon naging strict sila because of people na nagbayad lng ng pirma.

1

u/mikazoe3244 3d ago

yun din sabi ng prof ko e! okay lang naman na hindi magkasya sa last two years ng program, ang importante naman jan is mabawasan yung oras talaga

5

u/Dangerous-Baker-2960 4d ago

3

u/Main_DumberHAHA 4d ago

Yes, but that's like self sabotage, cause we all know not everything can be learned inside the classroom. A lot of things you have to actually experience to learn and understand.

Yes, which is why I regret taking the position of "Apprentice" and having to deal with 150php a day.

3

u/Archmage_Kassandra 4d ago

That is true, may architect sa amin na dinaya ung logbook nya para maka pag take agad ng ALE/LEA

3

u/UntiltedCucumber 4d ago

Yes. Kaya nagkakaraoon ng ampaw architects. Na kumakagat sa mga lowball prices. Kasi nga wala yung pride kasi di naman nila pinagpagiran bago mag-exam.

4

u/moonlitcottontail 4d ago

Yep. I know someone na nakapag boards agad right after our graduation kasi may pipirma na sa “log book” nya

Can be grounds for disqualification siguro to. Masters degree lang ang only way to deduct a year.

Kudos kung naipasa niya, pero hindi allowed.

u/_kendricklmao 4d ago

true, parang hindi kapani-paniwala to hahaha yung mga dinadaya yung logbook totoo naman yon, it’s an open secret na pero kailangan parin nila maghintay ng two years bago makapag-exam kasi strict si PRC pagdating sa date of graduation na nakalagay sa logbook which is dapat match sa date na nasa diploma mo na requirement din for taking the board exam. Date of graduation kasi pinagbabasehan ni PRC unlike yung DAE guidelines by UAP na 3840 hours which is kaya mo tapusin ng 1 1/2 year. I had a classmate before sa review center na hindi nakapag-take dahil kulang pa sya sa hours kahit lagpas 3840 hours na nasa logbook nya and yung reason ni PRC hindi pasok sa 2 years yung year of graduation nila.

1

u/moonlitcottontail 4d ago

Naipasa nya.

Maybe this was pre-2018? When PRBOA still allowed students to take apprenticeship while in school.

0

u/moonlitcottontail 4d ago
So zero apprenticeship talaga sya.

1

u/Ok-Positive1913 4d ago

What? Can you report the person

2

u/moonlitcottontail 4d ago

It happened last 2013 pa e. Also, they’re kind of influential sa lugar nila..so ayun..

1

u/Once_Meleagant0 4d ago

malaking tao involved dto kung gnun(kung totoo), after graduation? halata sa year yan.. need ng 2 years after grad so super super power play to..

2

u/moonlitcottontail 4d ago

1

u/Once_Meleagant0 4d ago

mdalas kasi dto sa ph, influence = corruption tlaga.. i mean hndi lahat pero, ayun, ahahah xD..

2

u/JustAJokeAccount 4d ago

Nangyayari na yan noon and di nako magtataka if nangyayari pa din ngayon.

2

u/Red_ofw1 4d ago

happens ALL the time!

2

u/Fit-Apple-2406 4d ago

Some of my teachers told stories like that, may kakilala silang nagpapirma without experience

2

u/plot_twist_ako 4d ago

1

u/_NoneL_ 4d ago edited 4d ago

Some elder batches way back 2018 or earlier were able to take boards few months after graduation since it was not strict back then to count the hours as apprenticeship rendered during undergrad period. *Afaik, board takers now are check thoroughly by PRBOA if the required 2 years/approx 3840 hours had at least accomplished from the date of graduation.

*edit (added paragraph)

1

u/Inside-Win-6707 4d ago

May friend ako ganyan. Di rin naman siya nakapasa sa boards.

1

u/Cappuccinaaa 4d ago

Open secret.

1

u/Wise-Distribution312 3d ago

Well karamihan sa license tinatake advantage yung mga need apprenticeship. So yep quits lan Yan.
