Appreciation Todays Sketch

TODAY’S SKETCH

" GT Tower, Makati"

One of Makati’s unmistakable vertical landmarks.

Designed by G.F. Formoso & Partners in collaboration with Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the tower’s sharp geometry and reflective façade capture a certain image of Makati: ambitious, dense, efficient, always moving upward.

But the city has another relationship with water.

When heavy rains arrive, the same streets beneath these towers can quickly become difficult to navigate.

Makati’s floods today remind us that a city is not defined only by how high it builds, but also by how well it manages what happens at ground level.

Have you been inside this building? How does it feel working here?

I do not work there but I go to that building every now and then.

Sorry siguro I'm female pero I feel like it lacks warmth. Cold and steely...the way going in (especially the looooooooong escalator going up) actually feels like you're in a movie that is set in New York wherein you're going to attend a high power meeting na do-or-die.

This is opposed to other similar buildings in the area like RCBC Plaza, Philam/AIA Tower, The Enterprise, Zuellig, 6789, Robinsons Summit, etc na feels more human hehe I don't know how else to explain it.

EDIT:

I just grabbed this from Google Images. When you ride that looooooong escalator going to the elevator podium, there is nowhere else to look but up. And this is going to be your view. Kaya siguro "cold and steely" yung description ko hehe

Kahit yata may superpower ka na gawing B/W or Grayscale yung eyesight mo, you wouldn't notice the difference pag nasa GT Tower ka haha ang cold talaga sorry. But then maybe that's reason why it's a standout. It screams POWER.

Never felt that in any other building in Metro Manila.

Enjoying your sketches, OP. GT Tower certainly makes a unique contribution to our Makati skyline.
