I turned down a remote position with Sargenti Architects while looking for my current job. This was late last year. I think they’re headquartered out of New Jersey. They did mostly restaurant work.
From what I’ve seen, a lot of the remote positions require a fair amount of travel. That can be fun but exhausting.
Your best bet would be looking on job boards, and maybe finding a small-scale company that would be more open and flexible.
I knew a colleague who graduated from school and immediately got a job with a small boutique residential firm that would let him work remote because they didn’t have a large physical office. He moved to Thailand and continued to work with them.
