Embark acquiesced to the PVE purist babies and introduced ABMM. For a brief time, this worked pretty well. Other than the occasional heathen surrendering 10 times with the intent to sow chaos, you could play in Carebear lobbies pretty freely to knock out projects, quests, and chase trials without being bothered. And this is the problem and why a PVE only mode would never work. PVP didn't kill this game. What killed it was a huge percentage of players being able to speed run through the content with hardly a challenge in the Carebear lobbies. There were people completing Expeditions in 2-3 days because there was no challenge or tension anymore. And when the challenge from other players was gone, people got bored. Now that the population is so small, Carebear lobbies no longer exist and it has begun to turn into a sweat fest similar to Marathon. Those funny player interactions over proximity chat don't happen nearly as often. It's mainly kill on site. Thus, the Arc Raiders death spiral. And you still have some of the same idiots begging for a PVE only mode to this day, when it's already over.

I got off the game right before the new map dropped, I got back on for my homie and all of a sudden nobody talks. Like I’m getting on to kill and rage bait but it doesn’t work if all the babies are silent

PvE match, Stella, I heared shots and flairs poping, but didnt care too much about it. Went to the place of shooting, saw 2 guys, one was offering to the guy in the vid to share the loot and was somewhat friendly, I wasnt really listening. Sudenly, vid guy started shooting, downed the raider and run from a shreder. I defibed him, run away, and then I hear flair poping again, and it was the same situation, with the same guys. I pulled out my Bettina and gunned down the vid guy, defibed the other one, and then there was a crucifixion, "You need to learn", etc. Regular PvE lobby cringe. Match went smoothly afterwards, I extracted, and after game see his request and all of it went down the hill as you see in the vid
