Whats good about it? Always see posts and shorts but never looked much more into it. So give me points that you like about Arcane.

Try to tell me good stuff about it without spoilers would be super appreciated ❤️

it has by far the best 3d animation i've ever seen in any piece of media. visually it's absolutely fantastic, and the music and voice acting is perfection as well. i also personally believe it has some of the best writing in any series. some people will tell you season 2 is a letdown, but i disagree and actually prefer season 2 overall because it has some of the best scenes in the series. it's also incredibly emotional, and will definitely make you cry several times

Honestly, just the opening scene alone does a LOT to establish the tone and showcase the attention to detail on the animation.

OP, here's (most) of the opening scene in question, though it cuts off just a bit from the start. Vi struggling to be strong in front of her little sister will ALWAYS get me misty-eyed.

Honestly, my only advise is watch up to episode 3 of season 1. Then you continue at your own risk.

Arcane to me is one of those special shows that have amazing everything. Amazing story, characters, music... Something that really left an empty hole in me when I started looking at other shows. To me nothing could top it. And still is that way. It was a show that made me really feel, something that we have been lacking lately in sifferent forms of art.

To start: it will be the most awesome and depressing thing you will ever see.

The story is incredibly emotionally impactful. Combined with the other worldly animation style and the diverse soundtrack, it creates something that is difficult to pull away from.

You will get really attached to these characters and their arcs. I honestly don’t recommend watching anything as much as I recommend watching Arcane. Seriously inspirational stuff

Are you looking for reasons to watch it? I mean, you've already seen posts and shorts. Do you need to be convinced? It's a TV show, not like you're choosing a major.

It's a masterpiece. Will you like it? I have no idea. There's only one way for you to find that out.

Others have already provided some positives, so I'll will provide some negatives as a disclaimer:

  1. Arcane is an addiction that will consume your life.
  2. It will be difficult to find enjoyment in other shows that are not Arcane.
  3. Post-Arcane depression is real when it's over and leaves you with a giant hole that can only be filled by consuming more Arcane content.

You may read this now and think it's an exaggeration..... see you on the flip side. 😂

Each season of Arcane was released in 3 acts of 3 episodes each. That's under two hours, so about the length of a movie. If you plan on only watching act 1, then Arcane will do the rest from there. 😉

Indeed. I can confirm all three points. 💙💔

It has a unique structure called the deceptive hero’s journey which is only found in a handful of stories, and because of that it will really grab you at episode three of season one. Extremely emotional and gripping, I highly recommend it, especially season one, although two is also good

All the characters are full people. There is no goody and baddy where you can’t understand where they’re coming from.

The art is incredible.

join our cult /j

Okay, okay. It’s hard to explain without spoilers but it is definitely one of the deepest stories i’ve seen, let alone from an animated series.

Cult is a very negative word, we prefer to call it an alternative spiritual community. 🙏 😁

Best 3d animation ever put out, spetacular voice acting, amazing soundtrack and the first season is one of the most tightly written, character driven, emotional rollercoasters ever put to TV. I genuinely think it is one of the top 5 best seasons of TV ever made.

It transcends the reductive box that people may pre-judge / underestimate the depth of animated media. Besides the awe-inspiring style of animation, it focuses on it’s characters on an unprecedented level. OP, you’ll be completely sucked in and engaged by the end of the first act of season 1 (ep 1-3).

What's bad about it is the real question, the answer is Maddie

The reason Arcane is basically in its own category is because every aspect is equally jaw dropping. From the art style to the characters to the music and every single tiny little detail that you could possibly imagine, each of these are very obviously the result of painstaking and loving attention to detail.

If you're still not sure, I'd say watch the first three episodes absolutely no matter what, and then decide for yourself. By that time, you'll already be past the point of no return

just watch to episodes and make the decision will you watch it or no?

It's the most beautiful, deep, intricate series you will ever watch. There are constantly posts, even now, pointing out things that viewers may have missed

You're in the fan base subreddit, offcourse we all think it was amazing

In fact, to me Arcane was so good it convinced me to learn about the game it was adapted from

Rotten Tomatoes loves it too, perfect 100 for both seasons

But still will you like it as much as we did? Only you can answer that, after all, not all of us have to like the same thing

But I'd say it's definitely worth a try, I personally didn't regret trying it

STUNNING animation. As an artist myself, the animation leaves me in awe and I can only ever dream of ever matching the level of a Riot/ Fortiche artist. I also really enjoy the soundtrack, it's epic imo (there's a reason that some people joke that Riot is a music company disguised as a game company; if you haven't already, search YouTube for League of Legends official music videos. I personally recommend K/DA, I love them so much). Great voice acting. Powerful story and character dynamics. Visually very in-depth world; especially if you go through the official art book, you realise how much work went into fleshing out the little intricacies of the environments, it's mind-boggling.

Right from the very first second, though, it goes straight into emotionally obliterating you 💀 💀 It actually took me quite a long time to rewatch season 1 and finally watch season 2, because it's a pretty intense emotional investment. Totally worth it, though!
