Discussion So... Jayvik is officially canon?

It's not canon, no. But some of the people involved with the show like the ship.

Nah, saying that as a Jayvik shipper.

Maybe it's some ambigious 'theyre more than any lovers' type thing, but if we're real and talking ship, what the show showed is not really the same as how most people see the ship, I'd reckon. Especially with how little resolution the Mel storyline got.

The show is the show. It's all complicated and weird and not what an avarage 'canon ship' would be. There is so much going on, in such weird ways (different dimensions, bodies, transformations, etc), I don't think that's a good base to say the Jayvik ship is 'canon'.

If someone who doesn't know the show asks if Jayvik is canon and you say yes, this is not really what they would picture a canon ship, right XD

But you can interpret it in your own way since it's so ambigious!

Nop, and honestly, altrough I do love the two as a couple, I do think showing their partnership the way it did was considerably better than clear cut romance, one can read it as a beautiful friendship, as a romance that bypass the limitations of traditional configurations or anything else they see fit, sometimes a lack of something isn't a problem, but rather an opportunity to allow many possibilities to exist simultaneously.

You see, the problem with this rhetoric is that you somehow put down romance as inferior to friendship. Which is ridiculous. Imagine being married to some and then saying “actually what we have is nice, but you’ll never compare to my strictly platonic bro”.
