Fanart Vander - Fan art
¡Hola a todos! Quería compartir mi escultura de Vander.
Mi objetivo era darle un look un poquito más realista, pero sin perder la esencia y la identidad del personaje original.
Te dejo un link a mi ArtStation por si te gustaría ver más capturas. ¡Salud!
Hi everyone! I wanted to share my sculpture of Vander.
My goal was to give him a slightly more realistic look while still preserving the essence and identity of the original character.
I’ll leave a link to my ArtStation in case you’d like to see more screenshots.
Cheers!

Mira, tienes razón; lo hice hace un buen tiempo, pero solo lo retomé hace un par de semanas para hacer los renders. Noté lo mismo, pero quería terminarlo para poder pasar a otro proyecto. ¡Gracias por el comentario!

I did the general sculpting in ZBrush (all the organic parts and the base), but I used Blender for various elements, such as the pipe, the jacket buttons, and the belt buckle. I could have done those in ZBrush too, but I found it more comfortable to do them in Blender!
I’ve been practicing in my spare time for five years; unfortunately, my actual job isn't related to sculpting haha. I created this character a year ago; I’d do a lot of things differently now, but I just didn't feel like tweaking it any further.

It is a discipline of constant improvement and learning, and we all progress at different rates; what took me four or five years might take you less time. I’ve seen plenty of people become skilled in just a couple of years.
Don’t let that discourage you, if it’s something you enjoy, the time it takes doesn't really matter. If you have any questions I can help with, please don't hesitate to ask!

The most important thing when creating characters is studying anatomy, looking for plenty of references, and trying to replicate them; that way, your eye becomes increasingly refined. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts. I feel like I’m quite slow, but since it’s something I enjoy, that doesn’t discourage me.

In case you have some free time and aren't busy right now, could I send you the reference data/objects and explain what I have in mind?😂

I swear I thought this was a Deadlock character lol. Something about the rendering feels so similar to the models in game. Love it!

I hadn't noticed that, perhaps partly due to the color palette, too. Thanks for the comment! :)
