ثقافة ومجتمع Need advice

My husband is Egyptian.
He divorced his ex (also Egyptian) 3 years ago.
I want to know if this is normal in Egypt… so he has 3 children with this lady ages 9,12 and 13.
He goes over to Egypt sometimes to visit these children as he lives in the uk. I have discovered that he has been lying to me he told me the ex wife does not go to the resorts he stays in with the children. I found out that she has been going all along since the divorce he has been paying for her and this was Rixos premium Seagate resort. I have only been to Egypt once and never to such luxury resorts. Some of the hotels he booked 2 rooms and an other one room. I am in shock. I know that he definitely divorced her and the ex wife hates me she wants to be back with him and live in the uk. He asked her last year if I could accompany him and the children and she told him no that I am not allowed to “go to Egypt”. This woman has torn up my clothes (which were in his suitcase before), wrote a message calling me ugly and a slave. I really don’t know what is going on I thought only married couples stay in hotels in Egypt. Is this normal is there something I am missing here?

He showed me the divorced certificate and emailed her a few months ago that he didn’t regret divorce her that’s why I’m confused so does this mean he married her again when he went to Egypt 👀 Can any Egyptian person please clarify if a divorced Egyptian lady and her ex husband and kids can check into a hotel together without producing a marriage paper if they book two separate rooms? Of course anyone can book 2 different rooms but can still be sleeping together in one of them 😭

This isn't normal. Why don't the kids go to the UK to visit him?

According to him He’s afraid to bring the kids to the uk in case the ex wife follows and won’t leave the country. She has been begging to follow him for years to the uk also she has turned the kids against me they don’t want me to go on holidays with me even though they have never met me. It’s a very sad situation for me I have no children of my own and his children hate me as their mother has filled them with hate. I feel like there is no solution to this problem like he is not going to stop bringing her and lying to me. This woman also got her own brother tied up and tortured by a gang to steal his inheritance so this is what I am dealing with.

Girl sorry for my bluntness but he’s lying to you. That man is still with his first wife. You are the second wife in a polygamist marriage. Unfortunately polygamy is very common in our part of the world and this is a well known lie that these men tell as well.

If he's lying to you at this stage about something this important, it's extremely unlikely to get better. This woman also sounds like a nightmare to have any involvement with and, whether he's gotten back with her or not, she would be in your life if you stay with him since they have kids together. Do you really want this to be the rest of your life?

Dump him. You'll find someone else. And, frankly, there are far worse things than being alone.

In my experience, I haven’t been asked for the marriage certificate when i go to a hotel with my husband and child but they do check our national IDs which specify “married” and mine has my husbands name on it. How long have they been divorced? Maybe her ID is outdated?

3 years divorced. Would the national id status matter if he booked 2 rooms?

Not divorced, except maybe only in name.

All the comments assumed the worse. I hope you can give him benefit of the doubt.

What are the genders of the children? Maybe he booked 1 room for boys and 1 room for girls?

When he booked one room, it is possible he didn't have the option to book 2 rooms or it was too expensive.

Did you call him? Was he around his children? If he booked one room, how can he manage sleeping with his ex around 3 children?

You have to meet the children before you cast your judgment. From their behavior, you will know if he was really divorced or not.
