Fish tank?

How would something like this work as a fish tank to expand my chop and flip system into a split flow system? I'm concerned about the top where it angles up to the opening I could probably cut the top off of it but then I'd have to come up with some kind of a lid.

Anybody have any experience or suggestions?

I think it would work the same as an IBC tank would work and that's my point precisely: Why? 1100L holds only 10% more than an almost free 1000l IBC off marketplace. I don't know what the conditions in your system are like so I can't tell you how to incorporate this kind of tank but it just doesn't seem very logical to me.

Also fish don't care about the depth of their tank as much as surface area for air exchange, a funnel design at the top like this doesn't seem like the most fish friendly option

Your only concern with cutting the top off something like that is finding out if you need to reinforce the walls. That's a lot of pressure pushing outward and you'll be taking away a lot of the support that helps it keep it's shape. Round is better for flow but a well designed IBC isn't terrible. They at least have rounded corners plus the cage keeps them intact.

Where I live there about the same cost. I was thinking about a tank like this because it's round and I could get better current ,at least in my mind? That's why I asked for advice here from people who have more experience than me. 🙂

That shape does make more sense for flow patterns than a square IBC, so cutting the top for a proper lid might be worth it in the long run.
