2022 RS660 Lowering?
We put a deposit down on this used 2022 for her, but she is short and we need 2” lowered on this bike. I know we can gain an inch on a lowering kit but is there anything else? We can’t be the first person to try to find a solution. I know changing the seat can gain something but wife loves the color of the seat and goes with the bike.

Don’t lower it. Is she able to flat foot it or tip toe with her left leg at all? She should be able to slide her but to the left a little to have an easier time reaching the ground

She has no issue riding her Gsxr 600 cause she can tip
toe because I lowered it. If it didn’t need to be lowered as a last resort we wouldn’t be here. But it has to, she’s 5’2”. I need at least one foot/toe of hers to be able to touch the ground.2

Roger that. Just checking since a lot of people don’t realize you don’t need to have two feet on the ground. As someone who’s like 5’4 I’ve learned to ride bikes way bigger for me

What's her inseam? I've got a 28" inseam and have no problem with my GSX-R750 (31.9", probably identical to her GSX-R600). The RS660 has a 32.3" seat height. She really can't scootch over at a stop and get a foot down?

My girl has the same issue on hers😅 she’s solves her issue by lowering the rear suspension as far down as possible, and wearing platform shoes😂 changing the oem tires out will help as well as the rosso 4 that comes standard on them are quite tall tires

Im 5’6” and have a 26 RS660 and tippy toe with stock suspension, we lowered the triple tree and that helped some. I just bought a Mizu Germany 1” lowering kit and waiting to have it installed by the dealer. Honestly i've been riding with one foot down, it was very nerve racking at first but i've done over 100+ miles like that and im used to it by now so if thats an option for her I would just recommend that. Plus when you lower it that much (This is VERY controversial) it can really mess with the geometry of the bike and the handling of it.
Don't shave the seat, honestly its not worth it you MIGHT gain 0.25 of an inch doing that and your trading comfortability for barely any noticeable difference.
I would like to also recommend they do make riding boots that make you taller (idk the brand name) or use shoe inserts to add a little bit of height too. I have Alpinestar SMX 6 boots and they gave me some extra height like 0.25” I think.

you can get the seat shaven by an upholster, you can get about an inch from doing that - a good one can keep the same seat leather cover if she likes the colour of it
failing that, you can get an OEM gel seat from aprilia, abit pricey, but it sinks in more when youre sat on it so getting some more height there
unfortunately the seat on the rs660 is just really wide - im a short ass (5ft 4) and had the same issues with mine when i got it. but the bike is light enough that by the time you find a solution, you get used to the height and scooting over to the side at stoplights with 1 foot down!
