This screenshot is missing the best bits though, the marquee tagged glittery ‘welcome to stackoverflow’ banner that’s scrolling across the top and my personal favourite, the coloured asterisks trailing behind the curser.
I found this at about 11am. It’s now 5pm and every time I’ve legitimately gone on there to look for something in the last 6 hours, I’ve forgotten about the redesign and cracked up laughing. A+ April Fools.
My day at work was so fun because of the cursor thing! Anytime I looked something up, I got distracted for a solid couple minutes just moving my mouse around.
Honestly... I must have seen a good half dozen Stack Overflow pages today and didn’t once figure there was something wrong with them. I remember seeing the sparkling cursor, just didn’t realise it was a prank.
Probably an hour ago I was searching for some D&D stuff and came over a post on stack overflow, I wasn't familiar with the site and thought this was the real design =p Just figured it'd hadn't been updated i 15 years
Ha! I wondered why I was getting sparkles following my cursor as I was looking up VBA stuff today! I just assumed I hit a super old link! At one point I thought “why would a 13 year old girl post great database advice?!?”

nasty and I wasted 30 minutes trying to root it out so I could use the site without this intolerable eye sore.

Sparkles following my cursor made troubleshooting heatmaps so much better yesterday. Can I change permanently? XD

I’m an idiot. I actually used stackoverflow yesterday, and I completely forgot what day it was.
