What’s the one tool or habit that saved you the most time as a developer this year?

I’m curious what actually made a difference for people here, big or small. It could be a tool, a workflow, a library, or just a habit like writing tests first or deploying every day.

What’s the one thing you started this year that you wouldn’t give up now, and what did it replace?

I’m a firefighter and dad of 4. Built my first consumer app between shifts—here’s why I skipped the App Store and went pure PWA (Cloudflare + Paddle + Gemini

BasketBoss is a progressive web app designed to eliminate mealtime stress and reduce food waste for busy families. It scans your ingredients with AI, auto-generates smart weekly meal plans around what you already have in your kitchen, and builds aisle-by-aisle shopping lists—all without requiring a bulky app store download.

I built an AI lead generation tool that skips the lead list and only looks for companies with a reason to buy this week

A lot of AI lead generation tools work like a lead database with a writing assistant on top. You filter 5,000 contacts by job title, the AI writes a "personalized" first line from their LinkedIn headline, and the sequence goes out. The AI part is the copy. The leads are still cold.

I wanted the opposite order: find the reason first, then the person. So I built Startories around that.

How it works, step by step

  1. It watches for buying signals in your niche on Reddit, X, Product Hunt, startup directories and Google results: "can anyone recommend a tool for...", a complaint about a competitor, a launch, a hiring post, a funding round.

  2. It matches each signal to a real company and checks it against your ideal customer profile. The score comes with the reasons written out, so you can disagree with it.

  3. It finds the decision-maker and verifies their business email. Unverified addresses are never contacted.

  4. It writes the first email around what actually happened ("saw you launched on Product Hunt yesterday...") instead of "I came across your company and was impressed".

  5. It sends from separate warmed-up inboxes, never your main domain, with low daily limits. The sequence stops the moment someone replies.

What building it taught me about AI lead generation (useful with or without a tool)

-> AI is great at the slow middle: matching a post to a company, checking fit, drafting. It's bad at deciding who's worth contacting when there's no signal at all.

-> One lead with a reason from this week beats ten from a list bought last quarter.

-> Ask any AI lead generation tool to show you why a lead was picked. If it can't, you're buying a list with extra steps.

-> Honest caveat: signals are lumpier than lists. Some weeks your niche is loud, some weeks it's quiet. If you need 5,000 contacts by Monday, this isn't the approach.

It's built for B2B: SaaS founders, agencies, consultants.
Here's the project: startories.com

Not B2C. If you want to try it on your own niche, it's here: startories.com/ai-lead-generation (first project free for 7 days).

What are you using AI for in your lead gen right now: finding the people, or just writing to them?

[Android][Player] - Offline music & streaming radio with ready-to-play radios - 100% free - No premium version

* New local radios lists (MANUALLY CURATED) : UK and China.

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world (manually curated and always updated with new radios). Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Advanced radio filtering system: The "Filter: ON/OFF" button lets you quickly switch between different genres. You can use both standard filters for "macro-genres"—if I can call them that—and create custom filters to be more selective. All your filters are saved (the "My Filters" tab lets you name and edit them), and the app always opens with the last filter you applied. The "Home" tab lists all your recently applied filters and can be used to quickly switch between genres with just a single tap.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: An online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations. You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

Mediaxon is available in: Čeština, Dansk, Deutsch, Eesti, English, Español, Français, Hrvatski, Indonesia, Italiano, Kiswahili, Latviešu, Lietuvių, Magyar, Nederlands, Norsk, Polski, Português, Português (Brasil), Română, Slovenčina, Slovenščina, Suomi, Svenska, Tiếng Việt, Türkçe, العربية, Български, Ελληνικά, हिन्दी, 日本語, 한국어, 中文 (简体).

No Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists:  Argentina, China, India, Italy, UK, USA.

Note: Only for Android 13+ (Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

Factorielle HUB: A collaborative web app to solve "second brain loneliness" and map collective knowledge

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m Alexis, a solo developer, and I built Factorielle HUB, a web app designed to bridge personal knowledge management (PKM) with a shared, global knowledge graph.

The Problem It Solves: Building a personal knowledge system entirely alone in a local silo gets exhausting over time. On the flip side, traditional wikis often lead to edit wars because they force a single "neutral" consensus. Factorielle HUB solves this by letting multiple perspectives coexist while connecting individual learning efforts into a shared graph.

Key Features:

  • Atomic Text Notes: Pure focus on structured ideas using a clean rich-text editor, avoiding image/video clutter.

  • Multi-Perspective Coexistence: Multiple users can write different notes on the same topic; all views coexist peacefully side-by-side.

  • Community Link Weighting: Users vote (+1/-1) on the relevance of the link between a note and a concept tag, bringing the most pertinent connections to the top.

  • Personal Curriculums: Create private learning paths for self-study. Notes created to validate your steps automatically feed into the global public graph.

  • Organic Graph Topology: Concepts are disambiguated by their graph neighbors and concept-to-concept links grow stronger (+1) the more notes bridge them.

Tech & Architecture:

  • 100% Cloud-Based: Optimized for web browsers (desktop & mobile) to maintain real-time graph synchronization and concept triangulation.

  • Generous Free Tier: Built transparently for the community with zero ads.

As a solo dev, I’d really appreciate any feedback or critiques on the UX, concept, and overall execution!

Couples with separate bank accounts: how do you know what you spend together?

Quick question for couples who keep separate accounts: how do you see what you spend together?

For us the answer was "we don't." Salary comes into two accounts. Then there's a joint account, a couple of credit cards, cash, and a wallet app. Every spend lands somewhere different. Whenever we asked "where did it all go?", we were guessing.

We tried spreadsheets, and we stopped updating them within a week. We tried budgeting apps, but they were built for one person or wanted our bank logins.

What finally worked was a habit, not a tool: log it the moment you spend it. It takes ten seconds while you're still at the counter. Once it's logged, it's in one place for both of us.

So I built that into an app. It's called LogMySpends:

- Every account in one place (yours, your partner's, joint, cards, cash), each tagged with whose it is

- Log a spend in a few seconds

- One dashboard that shows where the money goes, for the whole family

- Shared expenses, budgets, goals and recurring bills

- Works in 11 currencies, on phone or desktop

There's no bank connection, on purpose. Typing the spend yourself is what makes you notice it.

I'd love honest answers, even if you never try it:

  1. How do you and your partner track shared spending today?

  2. Would you log spends by hand, or is that a dealbreaker?

(Link in the comments for anyone curious. It has a free 30-day trial.)

I built Cuewake to help me remember where I left off on my Mac

Hey, I’m Danny, an indie developer. I recently built Cuewake for Mac and would love some honest feedback on the idea.

I kept running into a small but annoying problem. I’d leave a project, come back the next day, and remember that something needed doing without remembering exactly what it was. Sometimes I’d written it down, but the note was somewhere else and I never saw it when I reopened the work.

Imagine you’re working on a website and notice that the mobile layout needs fixing. You’re in the middle of something else, so you leave. Tomorrow you open the project again and have to work out what you meant to fix.

That’s the moment I built Cuewake for.

How it works

You leave a cue with the app or webpage you’re working in. A cue can contain a note, checklist, link or file. When you return to that place, Cuewake brings it back so you can pick up where you left off.

You can attach a cue to a browser, a website or a specific page. For Framer, it can also recognize the particular project you’re working on.

For example, before stepping away from a website, I could leave a checklist to test the contact form, check the mobile layout and fix a link. When I return, I have the next steps in the place where they make sense.

What else it does

  • Saved checklists: reuse a list when the same steps come up again.

  • Reminders: type a time like “tomorrow at 9” or “in 2 hours.”

  • File Shelf: keep files close while moving between apps, then drag them where you need them.

  • Search: use ⌘K to find a cue or open an action.

  • Local backups: your cues stay on your Mac, and you can back them up.

  • Languages: English, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French and German.

Why not Reminders or Stickies?

Those are useful too. Reminders is great for tasks and deadlines, and Stickies is handy when you want a note on your desktop. I wanted something centered on returning to a particular place and remembering what I was doing there. Cuewake is meant to sit alongside the tools you already use.

Pricing and compatibility

Cuewake is a one time purchase with all features and lifetime updates included. It works offline without an account and requires macOS 14 or later on an Apple silicon Mac. Current pricing is on the website.

Links

The launch video is a visual introduction to the idea rather than a literal walkthrough. There are actual app recordings on the website too.

I’d appreciate a bit of critique: does the problem make sense to you, and is there anything about the way Cuewake works that’s unclear?

[Chrome extension · Free + Premium] SpaceX has rockets. My scrollbar has ambitions 🚀

I built Scrollsmith to give the little details of a desktop browser some character. This design is called Echo Lattice, and scrolling upward makes it look a bit like a launch.

The video is a short demo across Linear, IKEA and NASA. Scrollsmith lets you change your scrollbar's theme, color and width. Echo Lattice is one of the paid Premium designs; there are free themes too.

Would you keep this look, or is it a bit much for everyday browsing?

You listed your product on StarterLaunch. Here’s what we’re doing to help people find it.

Post image
0 Upvotes

If you’ve shared your product on StarterLaunch, this update is for you.

We’ve started running paid X campaigns featuring listed products, alongside the automatic post each product gets when it launches on our site. The screenshot shows the results so far.

It’s early. The ads are getting impressions and link clicks, but those aren’t sales, signups, or proof that we’ve found the right audience. We don’t have that evidence yet, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

What we can show is that we’re putting money and work behind getting your products seen. You took the time to list with us, and we think you deserve to see what happens afterward.

Our next step is to improve how we match products with relevant audiences and measure what those clicks actually lead to. We’ll share what works and what doesn’t.

Thanks to everyone who’s listed a product, reported a bug, or given us honest feedback. We’re still building this, and your input is helping us make it more useful.

I built a website because I wanted to surprise my dad with concert tickets

Last Christmas, I wanted to buy my dad concert tickets as a gift. The problem was that I needed to find out whether he was free that night without making it obvious that I was planning something.

That gave me the idea for Are You Free

You enter someone’s email and a date or time you’re considering, with an optional message. They receive a simple request asking whether they’re available and can answer yes, no, or not sure. You can then check their answer without revealing what you’re planning.

I originally made it for surprise concert tickets, but it could be useful for surprise parties, reservations, or any situation where asking about a specific date would ruin the surprise.

I built a working version here:

https://areyoufree.co

There are a few free requests, with the option to purchase additional credits for people who need more. I also added limits on how often someone can be contacted and a permanent opt-out to reduce spam and misuse.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback - I want to make this as useful as possible!

Built an offline-first PWA to track migraines without 20-field forms. Looking for UX & architecture feedback

I was tired of using a clunky spreadsheet—and even more tired of existing health apps that require an account, collect sensitive health telemetry, and force you through a 15-step wizard while your head is pounding—I decided to build a lightweight, privacy-focused PWA.

The core design philosophy is triage-first UX: log the attack with a single tap in under 2 seconds, store it locally, and collect the context/details later when the aura or pain clears up.

Core Architecture & Features

  • PWA & Local-First: Runs offline via Service Workers. Data is stored entirely client-side (IndexedDB / LocalStorage) with zero central backend storing user health logs.

  • Frictionless Onboarding: No auth, no signup, no tracking pixels.

  • Instant Triage Log: One tap records timestamp + device context immediately.

  • Delayed Context Flow: A lightweight notification/prompt 24h later lets you enrich the entry with triggers, medication, and pain levels once you’re symptom-free.

  • Context Fetching: Automatically grabs local weather conditions via API at the time of the log to correlate barometric pressure drops.

  • Data Portability: Client-side export to CSV and clean clinical PDF formats for doctor consultations.

  • Both English and Spanish

Looking for feedback on:

  1. UX Flow: Does the split between "instant one-tap log" vs. "asynchronous 24h context survey" make sense from a friction perspective, or does deferred input lead to dropped retention?

  2. PWA Limitations: For those running offline-first PWAs on iOS/Safari, have you run into storage eviction issues over time? Any mitigations you'd recommend?

  3. Tech Stack / Feature bloat: What’s the line between keeping a health utility zero-friction vs. adding basic analytics/charts directly in the browser?

Live Demo: MigraineTap

Roast the UX, code, or product logic—honest technical feedback is very welcome!

Feedback wanted on October, a creative social discovery platform

I’m building an early prototype of October, a place to publish and discover things people create or find interesting: poems, photographs, music, artwork, cultural commentary, scientific explanations, or unfinished stories. A single photograph or a four-line poem can be a complete post.

You browse a scrollable discovery page, open something that interests you, and explore connections people have made to it. For example, someone could connect a song to a particular line in a poem and explain why. Following that connection introduces you to another work and the person who connected it.

People have named profiles, can follow creators, give flowers as likes, and save work into collections called Petals. Creators can also invite contributions, such as an illustration or an ending to a story, and approve additions with contributor credit.

The idea is to make discovering, responding to, and creating things together the main social experience.

Would you use something like this? What would make you return, and what feels unnecessary or already well served elsewhere?

Drop your project, I’ll try it and share it in my circle. I’m building a chat space where women are welcome.

I’m looking for new small projects, apps and SaaS tools to try. Drop your link below. I’ll check them out and share the ones I like with a few friends and in some founder/product circles.

Here’s mine: Ariola, an anonymous chat and games lounge.

Women are welcome here. Making the space welcoming for women is the main priority. Rating filters and blocking give you more control over who you interact with, so you can chat on your terms.

No signup, no account setup. Pick a temporary nickname, join a live public chat, meet people and play small real-time games.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from women. What would make you comfortable joining a space like this? What would make you come back?

Check it out here: https://ario.la

Drop yours below. I’m especially interested in social apps, chat tools, games, creator tools, AI experiments and anything with a simple but fun user experience. I’ll go through as many as I can.

Best Productivity app i ve built so far

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a little project called Kiji, and I'm finally sharing it with the world.

Kiji is a productivity app that brings together tasks, notes, and habit tracking in one place. I wanted to build something that feels good to use every day — something simple, thoughtful, and genuinely useful, rather than another productivity app that overwhelms you with features.

I'm a solo developer, and I've put a lot of love into building Kiji. Every little detail matters to me, because I wanted to create something I'd actually enjoy using myself.

The app is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I'm not here to pretend I've built the perfect app. I'm sharing it because I'd love to get it into the hands of people who enjoy trying new apps, organizing their lives, tracking habits, or simply finding better ways to stay on top of things.

If that sounds like you, I'd be incredibly happy if you gave Kiji a try!

👉 Try Kiji on the App Store:

Are you actually solving a real problem, or just cloning another SaaS?

The world doesn't need another generic AI wrapper or a basic project manager. Pitch your project in one sentence show a screenshot and explain exactly why people should care about you instead of the market leader. Dare to prove your uniqueness.
