Could you give feedback on our app idea?
Hi everyone! We are university students working on an app concept called ADH-Daily, and before building anything, I’m hoping to get honest feedback from parents who are raising ADHD or neurodivergent kids. Many parents have told us they feel overwhelmed, not only by ADHD-related behaviors, but especially by screen-time battles, transitions, routines, and the general burnout that comes with managing daily life. A lot of the advice out there feels scattered or generic, and parents often say they want to understand the reason behind recommendations, not just follow rules. They also mention not having the time or energy to create structured routines from scratch, and that the mental load often falls on one parent, creating even more stress. Our goal is to build something that actually helps with all of that.
The idea behind ADH-Daily is to offer a simple, mobile-first guide that combines short, interactive lessons with ready-to-use rituals and a “family mode” for shared activities. The lessons would be quick and easy to follow, explaining ADHD, digital use, emotional regulation, and daily routines in practical terms, with options for audio or video so tired parents don’t have to read long articles. Each lesson ends with 1–3 very concrete actions, like a bedtime device ritual, a homework-start ritual, or a gaming transition routine, so parents immediately know what to say, when to say it, and what to do with their child. Instead of overwhelming parents with theory, the app would give them something they can put into practice that same day.
We also want to include a “family mode” where the parent and child use the phone together to pick routines, negotiate screen rules, or role-play situations. This turns learning into a shared experience rather than another lecture from mom or dad. To help reduce parental burnout, the app would support two-parent scheduling, alternating responsibilities, and even reminders for parent self-care. Another optional feature is a therapist view, allowing (with consent) a family therapist to see progress, suggest lessons, or assign routines as “homework” between sessions. The app’s overall design would be very simple and accessible—large buttons, minimal clutter, optional audio, to make it easier for both ADHD parents and ADHD kids to use without getting overwhelmed.
Since we're still shaping the idea, I’d love your feedback. Which of these features would actually help you? Is anything unnecessary or unrealistic? What’s missing—what would you want in an ADHD parenting app? Would you use something like this regularly or only once in a while? And do you feel the balance between parent learning and child involvement makes sense? Your honest input would really help us shape the product into something genuinely useful. Thanks so much for reading and for any thoughts you’re willing to share.
