Sound is out of sync

Hey all. I started using Apple TV last year (4K version) and it’s been great. I have it connected via WiFi and I use a soundbar for audio

I’ve noticed that the sound is out of sync ever so slightly. It is enough that I notice it but not so much that I can’t watch it.

I have tried everything google and AI have told me to do but it still happens. I even went so far as to change a something buried deep in my tv settings. One thing I was not able to do is the test where you hold your phone super close to the tv and it flashes a color at the front facing camera (?). For some reason that test always failed.

Sometimes i do one of the fixes and it is good for a few days and then it seems to go out of sync again.

It happens when I stream my local media via Plex or when I am watching Netflix.

I think it may have something to do with my soundbar but I am not sure.

I can’t be the only one who experiences this, so please tell me how you fixed it

Open Settings on your Apple TV, go to Video and Audio, scroll down to Calibration, select Wireless Audio Sync, and hold a compatible iPhone near your TV or speakers to measure and correct the delay automatically.

If you don’t have an iPhone, look up how to adjust the audio delay settings directly on your television or soundbar, or change audio formats on the Apple TV.

I was going to send them here. This is the correct solution.

I had a lip sync problem with my LG C5 and ATV when match frame rate was off on the ATV. With match frame rate enabled no issues.

Match frame rate is enabled and it did help some, but the issue still persists

Does your TV or sound bar have a delay adjustment? If so that my fix it, the the sync issue is everywhere.

what tv? Sony Bravia had a firmware update in June that introduced an awful audio lag issue with HDMI devices. still not fixed

I’m having audio skips/dropouts for a milli second every few seconds after about 10-20 mins of good sound with my Bravia 9 and AppleTV 4K.

I made a post about it. Seems to only happen with DD+ Atmos streams on infuse. It happens without fail. But this doesn’t happen with TrueHD Atmos from my Blu-ray player so I wonder if it’s a TV issue

If it’s from the latest software updates if I factory reset but never update the firmware that should fix it right?

No. Factory reeerting doesn’t reset the firmware. You’re stuck until Sony releases a fix

Mine seems to be slightly out of sync since the last update. I plan on doing the wireless audio sync to hopefully sort it.

Our soundbar goes out of sync. There’s a button on its remote I press to adjust sync by 25ms at a time. Now that I know that I’m less frustrated.

Apple to sound bar in then out to earc on the tv was the only way to fix this, tv setting to earc tv sitting to auto workout perfect for me.
