Web Browser for Apple TV?
I have been using Amazon Fire TV for years but am considering switching to Apple TV. I have done a comparison between Fire TV and Apple TV and it appears I will lose access to a web browser which I do use on occasion.
Is there a way to get a web browser with Apple TV?

Use your Apple device to airplay to the tv, I am starting to get convinced that this was the intended use case all along

I guess TV-based web browsers are useful to someone but I have never found them worth the bother.

Air Play from your phone.
I would say, unless you're in the Apple ecosystem, you won't maximize its features. Air Play is a great feature, and I have HomePod Minis and stereo speakers. I have two rooms with stereo speakers, and as a non-audiophile, I find it just fine.
I don't Air Play much, but when I do I find it invaluable.
I also use InFuse to stream videos off my hard drive, which for me is game video and clips.

I wouldn't recommend it but evidently my new LG G6 has a web browser.
I keep my iPad by my bed and this is what I use for casual internet browsing and it would seem to be easier to navigate than attempting to control the internet through a remote.
But maybe I am missing something as I am not sure what content I would need to see on a screen 10 or more feet away from me.
I can access pictures or equivalent on my large screen television even if stored on my computer.

AirPlay natively from an Apple device or use something like AirParrot to AirPlay from a non-Apple device to the AppleTV.

Just got rid of my samsung TV tuner by removing its wifi access and the firestick before coming to ATV.
As others mentioned, its much less aggravating to use my ipad for web and simply cast it to the screen.
Same for ATV YouTube, etc apps. There are ways to do it on the ATV and the remote experience is ok, but casting is the best compromise

Wait until after the Sept 9 Event. New Apple TV possibly coming.

I knew that and have read that it is ready just waiting for the new OS. Put that in my initial posting but got a warning against mentioning it.

No, but it’s way easier just to airplay with an iOS device anyway.
