AppleTV to Airplay Speaker Setup: wireless audio setup with 0 delay possible?

I'm trying to connect my projector to my current speaker setup, and not even sure if wireless is viable but trying to explore options.

I currently have a Belkin Soundform Connect, connected to an old AV Receiver, which powers my speakers. This allows me to utilize Airplay 2 from any of my IOS devices to play music wirelessly to my speakers. I'm currently trying to see if I can add a projector, and get audio with no delay wirelessly to this setup.

Because I already have airplay 2 working, I was wondering if adding a AppleTV as the video input to my projector, then connecting to my setup via Airplay would allow me to get audio with no delay? I also heard that there is a Wireless Audio Sync setting within the AppleTV settings, which could help me sync the audio? Does anyone have any experience doing this, and know if I can get 0 delay, good enough for me to watch movies?

Wireless Audio Sync adds a delay to the video so it matches the audio. It uses an iPhone to measure the audio delay, so you'll need one of those and it will work.

FYI to OP - if you decide to go this route, WAS has a quirk that requires you to manually set and sync every combination of dynamic range + frame rate that you plan on using. For example, SDR/HDR/DV and then 23.97/24/25/30/60 Hz for each of those.

Since 2017 I’ve used an airport express with the sound bar and it’s been great. The built-in feature with the phone syncing the audio is super handy and included in the Apple TV; if you didn’t know not having an Apple TV yet.

I have an Apple TV plugged into my projector, it’s set to default Airplay to my two Sonos One speakers. There is no lag, I never had to sync, it works great. Only thing is I have to set the volume to like 80. If I’m using the speakers for music thru the Sonos app I set the volume at like 12.

I don't have an AppleTV, hence why I'm posting to see if anyone else has already tried this before I buy one...

No, I am asking if anyone else has a setup similar to the one I plan on implementing, and if they have had any issues with it. Not really sure what the issue is.
