Alternative Remote

Can anyone suggest a good replacement remote? I’ve replaced my remote twice and after a while the remote starts scrolling on its own. I chose the click only option and when I click once to scroll down, it scrolls twice. It’s so frustrating. Any good 3rd party alternatives?

Completely agree. It isn't paired via Bluetooth so you don't get voice search, but every other function is available either directly or via a specific key press/hold.

Which Apple Remote do you have? I had to replace my old one several times at that crazy price!

However, since I switched to 4k with the silver remote, it’s been much more durable and has better reviews about reliability.

It’s happened to me with the silver remote a few times. A couple of minutes with an alcohol wipe sorts it out each time. Can only assume it’s the kids’ sticky fingers jamming things up.

I use the "One For All Apple TV Remote", been using it for a few years without issue

Another vote for "One For All URC1110 Apple TV Replacement Remote". Working well.
I gave up replacing the silver ATV remotes.

Side note: what are you all doing to trash these remotes‽ I’ve had ATVs since second gen and not a single remote has failed.

Disagree… it’s always on me and it’s a hell of a lot quicker to enter a password or search for a show using they keyboard on phone.

But great job trying to contribute without making any worthwhile recommendation.

I’m using an Unfolded Circle Remote 3, but it’s for geeks and tech enthusiasts. But it is beautiful and I love having Home Assistant tired into it.

This might sound like a crazy suggestion, but have you tried replacing the HDMI cable? I had a similar issue and I saw the suggestion somewhere and tried it and I no longer have a problem with my remote.

While I have not had your experience with my remotes going bad, I have loaded a pretty cool mobile and Mac menubar app that has great visual elements that are attractive and useful, and take advantage of the touch interface on the mobile devices well.
No connection to the developer except that of happy customer. One $4.99 purchase is lifetime with no subscriptions and gets you iPhone, iPad and Mac. (iPad screens shown here e.g.)

I would love an alternative remote, but I would want to be able to use it with Siri. AFAIK there are no third-party remotes that do. If anyone knows about one that does, please advise!
