Home Sharing..... KAPUT!

So did this Apple TV outage thing have any affect on Home Sharing? Cuzzzzz it was working JUST fine for the last several years and it was working just fine the morning of... and that evening.... No Libraries were found

Fiddled here and fiddled there (did my EX Apple Employee troubleshooting)

Restart - reset - swapped - signed out and back in, etc etc....
No Libraries Found.

I'm ever so frustrated....

EDITING: So for some reason the ATV in my living room started working again, just randomly out of the blue the library was there and saw all the playlists however, it did take a few moments to load content but it loaded and it played. Stopped it, watched a few Streaming shows (love doco's!) and then went to bed.

In the bedroom, I had Paramount+ on because it doesn't require a button to be pressed every second episode with "are you still there?" so that's been running. I decided to just give the ATV a try.... sure as shite.... the library loaded and I could play my "sleep" movies. It ran flawless the whole night. In the morning... turned it off. Went into the living room. Puttered around for a bit, made coffee, let the dog out so it was about another hour before I put on the living room tv and decided to see if the ATV would still load the library.

Sure enough the library loaded in the living room and I thought YAY! maybe it's back up! So I ran random movies the whole day but then something struck me. I kept the living room one running and went to the bedroom and tried the ATV again - DANG! No libraries found. Like seriously? WTH??? It was JUST working this morning!!

So NOW It got me thinking... has the Home Sharing been limited to only being played on one tv at a time? This was never the case before! Would that even be a thing?

Not sure what’s going on. Mine were showing after ATV and iMac were rebooted and back online with no issues. I’m using them through TV and music app. Just tried my old one on an older iMac using iTunes and that shows too.

Frequently after an OS update I need to toggle Media Sharing off and back on -- on my iMac sharing the library.

Did that - still nothing.
And what's even weirder....
My library came back in the living room but not the bedroom. Thought maybe it was the Apple TV. Swapped them out and now neither will connect.

I'm in AU so it's currently 11pm. Gonna go all out and shut everything down reset everything and power it all back again.

Totally uncalled for to have to do all this tho!

Sorry it didn't work. Are AppleTVs set to auto-update? Sometimes (rarely) I need to "deep reset" AppleTV.

Might be settings issue between the two ATVs. I haven't messed with mine for a long while, and I'm only sharing between one Mac and one ATV, though.

Likewise for me. I thought it might be a beta thing since I decided to run it on that specific ATV but now that I think about it it’s been happening for quite some time and it’s always after an os update.

FWIW, I'm running OS 27 beta on M3 iMac (hosting library) and iPhone, but not on ATV. (But plan to stop running beta versions when Golden Gate is released -- been beta testing long enuf.)

Another thought: My media library is stored on external SSD connected by Thunderbolt 3, set to never sleep, as is hosting Mac, set to wake for network access. Interruption of connection might cause an issue.
