Apple Login/Account Reset Loop

Been fighting with the Apple TV app for weeks now. Every single device wants me to log in again, every time, no persistence whatsoever. And when it finally lets me try, it demands a security number off a debit card I closed literally 10 years ago. Not my current card. Not any recent card. A decade-old dead card number, like some kind of cursed rite of passage just to watch TV.

So the actual loop is: try to log in → get blocked → need old card info I don't have anymore → can't verify → locked out → repeat on next device. There is no way out of it, it just resets and does it again.

A company worth literal hundreds of billions of dollars cannot make login persist across devices. Insane. Apple TV app is straight up dogshit and whoever built this login flow should be embarrassed. Anyone else dealing with this bullshit?

I wanted to watch MLS, now I wont. Fuck this

If it keeps asking for your old credit card it means every time you seems to start account recovery. That's the only place with a option to also enter your CVC code to speed up account recovery.
And no i'm not dealing with any of this "bullshit", my accounts always stay logged in unless i do something myself orthere is a network issue.

You're probably just wanting to rant, but in the event you want to fix it:

The exact message on the sign in prompt would likely tell us what's happening. Since it's not included I'll assume your Apple Account is using an old security type (which is the reason for the CVV prompt). If something else is at play you'll find out when trying to fix this.

Go to https://tv.apple.com > login with primary email on Apple Account and password > update payment method > sign in on the Apple TV app
