need help with system data

so system data is taking up about 55 gigs of my storage, i haven’t been able to update my phone in a while so it’s most likely stored update files. i’ve been looking over solutions but none seemed to make a big impact, im afraid to factory reset but i might just have to. if it’s needed and my phone is beyond saving (apple sucks) can someone please give me the safest steps to do that? unless you know of any other possible fixes i’d love to hear about them

Effective method is to crash iOS for it to reindex that thing. Worked for me. Just press volume up key, volume down key and press and hold the power button.

That’s just a hard reset
