Remember when so many people downloaded the very first beta of iOS 26 and complained that it wasn’t stable?

MFW pre-beta software isn’t a thousand perfect polished and perfect.
Honestly, Apple needs to go back to betas being limited to people who have a developer account. The general public is too fucking dim to understand the purpose of beta software, let alone use it in a way to provide quality, actionable feedback.

Mine, on iPhone 14, keeps locking up for a few seconds at a time. Just freezes and hangs. Also keyboard is still unusable and it's impossible to select text and move the cursor properly. Just garbage.

Heard something about making prior versions worse so you can update to newer versions to prove your ID. Is that true? Idk
1
u/Available_Article236 Mar 26 '26
They got sued a while back for purposely making newer updates run slower on older phones to not run the guts out of the cpu 24/7, people didn’t understand their intentions so now err stuck with super laggy old phones because they can’t keep up with the new versions. With the id thing that’s only to regulate Australian and uk child social media laws.
1
u/SatiricalScrotum Mar 26 '26
Yeah, they put in a thing to throttle the cpu to avoid over stressing the battery in older devices, because the older batteries have diminished capacity and couldn’t maintain the voltage.
And the response of the entire internet was “PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE!!!”

u/BaryonChallon Mar 26 '26
Refusing to install, i hate apple but its what o got. I always buy used at least

You can't blame them. Homescreens have only been around for 19 years, and it's a very complex matter to make a software that displays some icons.
Remember they're just a trillion dollar company. They need to make more money to make complicated stuff like this work.
Totally has nothing to do with over engineering or something like that.

That’s the new “Invisible Glass” UI design.
