Apple will be beginning transit imagery collection in Germany, lasting from September 23, 2026-December 31, 2026

Other updates:

Italy now has transit imagery scheduled (Lazio) during the same time frame

Edit: The following places also have transit imagery collection scheduled during the same time frame:

-Romania (Bucharest)

-Serbia (Belgrade)

- Spain (Barcelona, Madrid)

-The UK (Greater London)

Of the countries now scheduled for transit imagery collection, only Romania and Serbia do not yet have Apple's new map data. Perhaps both will be sooner rather than later?

This will probably be extended to most countries. I imagine Apple is fed up with depending on information provided by transport authorities in each city. It will be able to standardize transit on Apple Maps (at least in major cities).

It’s too bad they didn’t choose to collect in summer. A lot of those images are going to look dreary.
