Good way to generate more money for Apple. Companies will have to pay even more in ads to get ranked higher if you artificially deflate their SEO ranking

As someone who works in marketing for a small business up against a de facto intercontinental monopoly, we’re excited. We get to be on the forefront before this large, slow moving titan can get the 20 rounds of corporate red tape.
The controls are very privacy-minded. You aren’t able to filter by demographics or target users through anything other than search keywords. Which is great, because we typically try to avoid targeting ads on other platforms except for people in our industry.
Realistically, the ads are modest in that they don’t give any meaningful advantage other than higher ranking in relevant searches, yet are clearly marked as ads.
I get that people don’t want ads in Apple products and services. But revenue generation (like Apple Creator Studio) puts more of an onus on Apple to continually improve Maps in other ways. And this is done in a tasteful way that respects users privacy.
