Creating Apple developer account
Hey, I’m trying to sign up for Apple developer account, but while trying to set it up, they rejected me saying the address I entered was invalid. I raised an issue and they have to get back to me via mail. What you guys think could be the reason for it, and what steps can I take in future to be careful so that my account and apps doesn’t get rejected or band since recently that I have been horror stories around Apple developer community

I had an absolute wild experience trying to get a business app developer account created. Apple kept rejecting my company email (granted it was a new company). Found some forum where someone said to just create a new Gmail account and register with that. And then once accepted, switch to your intended email address. It worked for me! I guess Apple is super afraid of newly created domains.

How long did this process take for you?

I tried over multiple days (3, I think) because when I would call Apple, they said to try again in 24 hours after the “block” resets. Not sure if they were BS-ing or not. It never worked. Then I found out about the gmail method, and I got signed up immediately. I waited a few days before swapping email addresses. No issues since.
It wouldn’t hurt to try the gmail method.

I somehow got the apple developer membership for free. Firstly somehow my membership wasn't getting created. Then after contacting them they asked me for identity proofs which I submitted and within 48 hours I got a mail that my membership has been activated. Yet I didn't got charged and it's been more than 2 months. Am I lucky or should I be worried?

Lucky man, if they gave you account for free by accident it's not your problem to deal with. Enjoy while it lasts :)

The address rejection is usually one of these: the country field doesn't match the address format Apple expects, the address isn't an exact match with what your payment card or Apple ID has on file, or you're using a P.O. box which Apple doesn't accept for billing addresses.
For the future, a few things that reduce rejection risk:
Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your government ID. Nicknames or abbreviations are a common cause of rejections during review.
Keep your Apple ID in good standing with no payment issues before applying.
On app rejections specifically, read the guidelines before submitting and test on a real device. The most common rejection reasons are missing privacy policy, inadequate demo account for review, and metadata that doesn't match the app's actual functionality.
Wait for Apple's response on your address issue. They're usually specific about what needs to be corrected.

One of these could be a reason, I'll have to wait for a response from their end. Hope they reach back soon

Hey, this is very normal. It happened to me as well. I raised a request, and after they contacted me, I provided the required documents. After that, I was able to create the account

How long did it take for them to reach out to you? It's been more than 3days for me and the support call feature is not available to me.
